I'm a little late with this. In brief: Soul Eater continues to pwn every other manga I'm reading.
Oh, Stein/Marie, how are you so sweet and awesome? God, they're body language in this pic.
Also, you know how in most shonen manga, when there is a character who's a sexist dick they usually get away with it and/or need to get a man to beat them? Guess what happens when you're a sexist dick in Soul Eater!
I like the Justin reveal - partially because I've never cared for him as a character, so his being evil doesn't bother me. Also, it makes sense.
Further evidence that Maka is unquestionably the main character in Soul Eater: this. I've very curious to see why she's important, and what the Kishin (it is the kishin, right?) wants her for. I'm betting it has something to do with he dual lineage.

But he's going after Maka in the manga.

Justin = evil. I'm surprised I didn't see that coming...I mean, he already looks like a hip Hazel Grousse, that's gotta be a bad sign.
I love how much time the author takes to set up the plot and characters before the epic battles, and I can't wait to see what the hell the Kishin want Maka for.

Probably one of my favorite chapters is the one where Stein was accused of murdering Marie's ex, his buddies turn him free because they don't want to see him die...and Marie goes with him even though she could have just stayed put.
YES! I adore the scene where he's holding her and you get a close up of his determined face.

Yeah, I'm really in awe of how well he paces things - and also that he very clearly wraps up an arc before starting a new one.
