Follow Me Into The Desert, As Thirsty As You Are

Found a great new fanart site - tons of Hinata, Hinata/Neji, and Hinata/Itachi (I know, wtf, right?).

I have no idea what the artist's name is though.

This was my favorite pic:

I swear, the world is just trying to make me happy today. (And succeeding so very well.)

Oh, nice. Hinata looks so subdued and elegant in that one. I guess if you were desperate to know, you could email this itsumi person.

The one with Hinata in an akatsuki cloak made me snicker, though.

It's more likely I'll bug my Japanese-major best friend. ^_^

The one with Hinata in an akatsuki cloak made me snicker, though.

...yeah. It's so very pretty. It's so very ooc.

Oh, nice find! The artist's name appears to be Itsumi.

I've never thought about Itachi/Hinata before; that's actually kind of an interesting pairing idea, the prodigy and the 'failure'. Now I need to go see if there's any non-massacre AU stories. :)

This pic (http://k13.skr.jp/365/cgi/gal_pic/data/upfile/71-1.jpg) is my favorite, I love how Hinata looks.

Akatsuki!Hinata being all creepy in the page where she's saying Itachi's 'your hate isn't strong enough' line (http://k13.skr.jp/365/cgi/gal_pic/data/upfile/40-3.png) is incredibly awesome.

Yeah, she does look hella badass in that scene.

[identity profile] goldengrimoire.livejournal.com 2009-06-05 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
I'm rather fond of the idea of evil!Hinata, she has the potential to be creepy as hell. I'm picturing her as being so completely withdrawn that she's outwardly blank-faced and hollow on the inside. D:

[identity profile] redbrunja.livejournal.com 2009-06-05 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I dunno... while the art is hot as well, I don't quite buy evil Hinata.

[identity profile] goldengrimoire.livejournal.com 2009-06-05 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I think she had the potential to turn out badly thanks to her family life, but I don't see how you'd get her to go evil at this point.

Sakura seems much easier to push down a darker path to me than Hinata.

Hinata seems much more self-destructive to me than externally destructive.

Agreed about Sakura - I can EASILY see her deciding she has been hurt one to many times and going evil.

The art on that site is lovely. <3

And Itachi/Hinata no longer seems weird to me. I mean, I have actually seen Madara/Hinata before. No one can say Naruto fandom isn't full of crack.

[identity profile] redbrunja.livejournal.com 2009-06-04 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not weird in an 'omg what are you thinking' but in an 'I really don't think that would work' way.

[identity profile] mildmay.livejournal.com 2009-06-04 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I can see possibilities for it, but it probably depends a lot on 1.) what you look for in fictional relationships and 2.) personal interpretation of Itachi. Which will probably always be a point of debate for people.

Honestly, I have yet to find a pairing for Itachi that really feels right to me beyond Itachi/Anko.

[identity profile] mildmay.livejournal.com 2009-06-05 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I can't see that one so much. At least, not with the way I like to interpret him. And I can be pretty picky about that, I will admit. Which is why I very rarely read fanfic about him, even though he's my favorite character.

[identity profile] mildmay.livejournal.com 2009-06-06 09:00 am (UTC)(link)
I could actually see them having a really interesting platonic relationship, though, when I think about it. Since I've been musing on it since your last comment. I am just not so sure about the sex and such, though. Probably a personal thing. I can't quite picture it. Maybe in part because the idea of them just having a platonic relationship pings me as more interesting. I'd love to see more intriguing platonic relationships between men and women in fiction in general, so. Like I said, a personal thing. XD

[identity profile] redbrunja.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 08:01 am (UTC)(link)
I have to say, the idea of a platonic relationship between them is cute as hell. I just love the idea of perfect little Uchiha prodigy trailing after older, jaded, fucked up 'Anko-sempai.'

Do you have any Itachi pairings that you ship?

[identity profile] mildmay.livejournal.com 2009-06-08 10:16 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, see, I could get into that. XD

I uh. Ship him pretty hard with Neji. Which is why I keep an open mind about other pairings with him even if I can't picture them myself. Because it'd be pretty ridiculous for me to be all like "ItaNeji OTP!!1!1" and then turn around and go "pfffft that could never happen" about some other crack pairing. |D

I also sort of like Madara/Itachi in a horrible, fucked up kind of way. I wouldn't say I ship it, but I'd read it were done well.

I'm kind of interested in Itachi and Konan, too. Not in a shippy way necessarily, but I don't know. Just in general. That one is another one that has the possibility to be an interesting platonic relationship, I think. Which...I guess is not relevant to your question, but it popped into my head as I was typing up this comment.

And I've gone on more than I intended too. Uh. I can ramble on about Itachi a lot. >.>

[identity profile] redbrunja.livejournal.com 2009-06-08 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Ramble away! And yes, I think Itachi/Konan could have some really interesting conversations. I think they'd be on the same wavelength regarding a lot of things, especially things that don't directly relate to the ninja lifestyle.

[identity profile] mildmay.livejournal.com 2009-06-09 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, exactly. It just seems like there could be a lot of potential there.

[identity profile] okroginator.livejournal.com 2009-06-04 01:47 pm (UTC)(link)
For some reason, Hinata/Itachi intrigues me far more than Hinata/Sasuke, which I usually just roll my eyes at.

[identity profile] redbrunja.livejournal.com 2009-06-04 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
It's interesting, but I think it has the same inherent problem as Sakura/Itachi, which is that she's not nearly screwed up enough for him.
