As far as I know, not a lot of backstory was given on Tony's interactions with his parents. But I was never into Iron Man because I started reading Marvel during Civil War, and I was a big Spiderman fan which sort of makes it necessary to hate Iron Man in some way.
I'd definitely be interested in reading more about them/his relationship with them, though. Part of why I was never too interested in his comics was that he had so little I could relate to, so it would be neat to see a more accessible side to him.
