I read this chapter at the kitchen table and at a certain point I made this squeaking squee sound and my mother asked what was wrong.

Nothing was wrong, I was merely drowning in Okubo-sama's AWESOME!

First off, we have Maka reaping souls with her scythe and her black coat of awesomeness. Honestly I DID NOT expect Soul Eater to end up leveling up to Death-Scythe within the arc of the manga. Okubo makes the status quo his bitch. I'm SO psyched to see what the next fight looks like after this power-up.

Soul's wondrous expression as he reaches out for that 100th soul is fantastic.

Patty is badass! And not annoying me beyond belief! Amazing!

Ox-kun looks SO MUCH BETTER with hair that I actually had to stare at his glasses to figure out who he was.

Harver-kun still thinks his taste in women sucks.

Black Star taking on Mifune's role with Angela is adorable.

Angela makes everything adorable.

I like how Black Star lost his fight against Patty. *snerk*

I desperately want to know what Stein did to/with Marie that makes her call him a pervert. Heh, heh, heh.

The guy who kidnapped your Kid "piques your interest"?!?!?! Way to show you care, Death God Dad.

I love Kid's furious expression when he hears them plotting to kill Maka. (Which I can't wait to see, by the way.)

Awww, Stein/Maka hug! Seriously, all my ships are getting a tip of the hat today. And I feel really dumb but I didn't grok until now that Maka's hair ties had skeletons on them.

Sometimes it's so long between updates I forget how much I like this series.

Nothing can contain my excitement at the fact that Stein and Marie aren't fugitives anymore. That makes me so happy. Didn't see nearly enough of them while they were on the lamb.

But oh god, the TAPE! I was laughing my ass off but you'd think they'd check to make sure it worked before turning themselves in to THE DEATH GOD. Although, is it just me or is Shinigami-sama too laid back for what we would expect of his position?

Also...I'm concerned that Soul becoming a Death Scythe is just a little too easy. And where the chapter cut off makes me suspicious that the author is somehow just dangling victory in front of them just to jerk it away in the next chapter. Since it's been Maka's goal from the beginning, I figured the 100th soul would be a little...harder.

Even though I've never shipped them, the Stein/Maka hug made me glow at how cute it was.

WAY more laid back than I expected. Actually, it's a lot like what I think Naruto would be like as Hokage (only Shinagami-sama is WAY more badass).

And where the chapter cut off makes me suspicious that the author is somehow just dangling victory in front of them just to jerk it away in the next chapter. Since it's been Maka's goal from the beginning, I figured the 100th soul would be a little...harder.

I think it's the mangaka showing how their goals have changed. Sure, it the beginning it was about Maka beating her father... but now two friends have been kidnapped and Maka has other things on her mind. Soul may be a Death Scythe now but NO WAY is getting their friends back going to be easy.

The Stein/Maka hug was way cute.
