I'm in the last leg of my epic unpacking, room reorganizing, cleaning thing (all that's left to do is organize my papers and folders for the last quarter, deciding what should be recycled and what should be kept) and I am so. very. bored.

All is quiet on my flist.

Talk to me, please? About anything. Seriously, bring on the epic threads about fluffy kittens or fictional character's undergarments.

Actually, fictional character's underpants sounds like it could be a good meme.

Drabble ideas? :s

- Kakashi's underwear
- Cats vs dogs
- Lava lamp
Sunday, June 14th, 2009 09:24 pm (UTC)
For you or for me? Right now my head is full of kink meme prompts and original fiction, plus an idea for my remix.

Kakashi's underwear: boxer briefs, in black or dark blue.

Cats. They're independent, adorable, and smell much nicer than dogs.

Lava lamp - cool in the 70s. But now that we have screen savers on our computers, why would we need to buy one?
Sunday, June 14th, 2009 09:34 pm (UTC)
Eeek. I was thinking for you - I'd forgotten you'd has so many things to write already >_>

So no Speedos for Kakashi? Even though, seriously, wtf. I don't understand how a Speedo is even remotely sexy >D

Between Seeing Housecat Housecall and my dad showing me these adorable pics of a Savannah cat, I realised that I miss having a cat :c

I dunno - there's something nice about lava lamps. Screensavers don't make the entire room have a nice glow (then again, maybe I just don't have the right kind of screensavers).

So no Speedos for Kakashi?

A whole world of no, unless, of course, it was somehow required for a mission.

Honestly, I don't think I've ever played around with a lava lamp irl, so I have no idea how much they do or don't light up a room.

I feel like such a nerd now. I've always had this weird fixation on lava lamps :x

OH MY GOD THAT FANART IS AWESOME.

Does the artist has more?
Monday, June 15th, 2009 03:53 pm (UTC)
Gah. I can't find it ANYWHERE. ;__;

The only place I can find it is on Quizilla, inserted into someone's horrific fanfic.

I found another pic of lifeguard Kakashi in a speedo, but... erm, no. Just, no. (http://yaoiclimaxrebuilt.wetpaint.com/photo/1121404/lifeguard+kakashi) D8

I can offer more Kakashi fanart in return? :D

That fanart is awesome!! :DD

Well, we KNOW what Sokka wears. Aang goes commando (he likes to feel a breeze), Zuko is black briefs in various silk fabrics. rarw.
Sunday, June 14th, 2009 09:29 pm (UTC)
Walter's undergarments? Integra's?

Seras obviously wears plain white knickers, and I doubt Alucard wears anything at all. I have no idea about Walter... And I bet OVA/Manga Integra would surprise us all with lacy black unmentionables.

P.S. WxS fanfiction is a great way to beat boredom... *coughcoughhintcough*
Sunday, June 14th, 2009 10:40 pm (UTC)
Walter would wear starched and pressed white boxers. I bet Integra has a whole dresser drawer full of sexy, slinky, silky, completely feminine underthings in a variety of colors.
Sunday, June 14th, 2009 09:43 pm (UTC)
Well it's not fluffy kittens, but as my cats get older they're getting more affectionate. They were always big old mush balls, but the smaller one used to be more skittish. He's hilarious now: always begging to be picked up, and when he does he wants to crawl right up over my shoulders. I could wear him as a living stole if I wanted. It's pretty cute.

I recently watched pretty much every episode of a show called Burn Notice. Have you seen it? I'm kind of loving it so far. I think Fiona would be a chick you'd like.

As for underwear, I find it odd that whenever a kunoichi's bra is mentioned in fanfic, it's usually something sexy or a t-shirt kind of bra, even on missions. Don't you think they'd be wearing sports bras? Especially the girls with bigger chests. I don't see any way Hinata could be running around on a mission in something that doesn't have that kind of support.
Sunday, June 14th, 2009 10:03 pm (UTC)
I'm a 34J and I might as well wear nothing if I wear a sports bra. A good, supportive underwire is what I wear while working out... see, after a point on the big breastage scale, sports bras either suffocate you or fit as more of an undershirt. And honestly, even the ones that suffocate you don't actually do the same support as an underwire. I remember they used to work pretty well, but once I got past a D/DD they became totally useless.

Burn Notice is kind of okay though. I watch it with my brothers and it's interesting enough.
Sunday, June 14th, 2009 10:38 pm (UTC)
See, I'm 34C, and an underwire does not cut it when I run. Even when I was an A, I really needed a sports bra or I'd be hurting. I could get away with it for maybe fifteen minutes, but when I was playing soccer six days a week? I practically lived in one. So maybe Tsunade wouldn't wear one, but I don't think any of the other women in Naruto are too much bigger than me.
Sunday, June 14th, 2009 10:41 pm (UTC)
well, an underwire doesn't really "cut it" for me either, but it works a heck of a lot better than sports bras! I still bounce like crazy, but tbh I've yet to find any bra that keeps you from bouncing like crazy when you're past a DD/F. It's just varying degrees of bouncy, lol. It's also possible they make underwire bras differently for a C vs. a DDD+, since my G/H/I/J bras look and wear a lot different than the underwire bras I wore as a younger teenager.
Sunday, June 14th, 2009 11:16 pm (UTC)
Aha, yeah, I can only imagine your predicament. I think they do structure bras differently for the larger cup sizes; my friend is a triple F and we were comparing one day.

And, actually (to completely contradict my point... lol), I know smaller chested (A-higher B) women who do prefer to work out in regular bras because they think sports bras are constricting. It's just that in my experience, when you get women who don't just work out but are extremely athletic, playing sports and such, you get to a point where you really can't. I'm quite comfortable in a sports bra, but for a while I wore them nearly every day. Everyone on all of my teams did.

Then again, for DDD+ women, I don't know how that would be. I bow to your expertise there.
Sunday, June 14th, 2009 11:47 pm (UTC)
I forgot that I actually do have a "sports bra" that works moderately well... it still suffocates me, but it's built specifically for 34I-J (which is easierthan saying 34DDDDDDD, btw O_O), has underwires, and looks more like a really really modest regular bra than a sports bra. So idk if that actually even counts as a sports bra. XD But yeah, when I was 12-14 and a C-DD I remember I wore sports bras every single day no matter what I was doing, and they were relatively supportive. Granted, I wore them because I wasn't allowed to wear anything else (eccentric single mom on limited funds and time and views of modern fashion sense, or something), so by the time my step-mom handed me down her C bras they didn't cover my nipples, so... yeah.

I actually have no idea what I was trying to say with that. Think I'm going to go play Tomb Raider while I wait for meds and coherency to kick in, I think, lol.
Sunday, June 14th, 2009 10:12 pm (UTC)
He's hilarious now: always begging to be picked up, and when he does he wants to crawl right up over my shoulders. I could wear him as a living stole if I wanted. It's pretty cute.

Awwwww, that sound so adorable.

And yeah, I've caught a couple episodes of Burn Notice here and there - it seems like a pretty cool show and I like how Fiona is even more hardcore than Michael is, sometimes.

As for underwear, I find it odd that whenever a kunoichi's bra is mentioned in fanfic, it's usually something sexy or a t-shirt kind of bra, even on missions.

You know, the only time I remember hearing about a kunoichi's bra, it's usually during sexy-fun-times in Konoha, where the sexy makes sense, or it's a the one-arm bra that Sakura is shown wearing.

But, agree. I bet Hinata has a whole drawer full of practical sports bras and not one bit of sexy lingerie.
Sunday, June 14th, 2009 10:42 pm (UTC)
I think Fiona is hilarious in that Michael's always having to hold her back. He's always making her use less C4 than she wants and she always pouts about it. (Not to mention that she can make it herself...)

I've run across one, maybe two fanfics that involved sex on a mission, and Sakura was wearing a regular bra. I'd rather have seen them have to deal with a sports bra, but then again I like seeing a little awkward in the sexy. It makes it more real.
Monday, June 15th, 2009 02:23 am (UTC)
Honestly, most of the sports bras I have had clasps in the back, so for me it wouldn't have been that awkward.

How about chest bindings? I've written a character wearing those, mostly because the unwrapping process is rather sexy. :)

Edit: And chest bindings do have that hint of kinky bondage fetishism to them too.

(Regular!Sakura wears something cottony and practical with a little lace to make it girlier, Akatsuki!Sakura wears naughty underthings as it's part of the Evil Organization contract, and Sasori goes commando, because a puppet doesn't need underpants!)

For kink factor, I can suspend my disbelief enough to buy wrappings. For practicality, damn, those would be a bitch to put on and take off all the time!

Akatsuki!Sakura wears naughty underthings as it's part of the Evil Organization contract

LOL. The Akatsuki put that in their contract? Awesome. Pain only put it in to require Konan to be wearing something naughty all the time.
Sunday, June 14th, 2009 11:36 pm (UTC)
Yes, it must be true!

Although Akatsuki!Sakura would wear them anyways, because she's pervy like that. :D
Sunday, June 14th, 2009 11:39 pm (UTC)
I've seen chest bindings a decent amount in fic. While they're hot, I think they would also be pretty inconvenient.

After 'The Window' I cannot imagine Sakura in anything other than french-cut cotton panties of multiple hues, with various cutesy images on them - various fruits, sweet little comments, kisses, kanji for words like 'medic' and 'hospital' and 'bitable, etc.

Heh, Hinata's lack of a suitable bra is actually the major plot point of one of my main fic's offshoot one-shots that I'm planning to write like I don't have enough to work on as it is--she's starting to be in a serious amount of discomfort because all her clothing (including her specially made, super-supportive bra) was trashed when Kabuto "rescued" her and bandage bindings aren't cutting it anymore.

Kabuto: You know, if the size is such a problem for you, I'd be more than happy to do something about it...

Hinata: O.O;;;
Monday, June 15th, 2009 10:05 pm (UTC)
Hahaha oh God. Among the lesser used of Kabuto's skills: breast augmentation. He better not, s'all I'm saying. Hinata's got fabulous knockers.
Tuesday, June 16th, 2009 03:16 am (UTC)
He's a true Renaissance man. *snickers*

He did mostly say it just to see how Hinata would react as Kabuto is quite fond of those fabulous knockers too. :D Though I can't say he wouldn't jump on the chance to perform legitimate surgery on Hinata if it came to that...

Sunday, June 14th, 2009 10:51 pm (UTC)
I couldn't even consider doing the kink meme, sadly. I'm much too vanilla busy for it. I realy should not be online at all. I have a four page essay due Tuesday that I have yet to start. I know four pages isn't that much, but when I get an assignment about the Declaration of Independence, I feel its four pages too many.

I bet Rock wears tidey whiteys (at least at the beginning) while Revy wears nothing. Discuss?
Monday, June 15th, 2009 01:29 am (UTC)
Really? I would think the Declaration of Independence would be a pretty interesting thing to talk about. You have John Adams and declaring slavery legal for political reasons and the fact that we decided that 'pursuit of happiness' is important enough to be written into our country's founding...

Rock TOTALLY wears tighty whities. However, nothing + cut off shorts would actually be pretty uncomfortable. Plus, don't we see Revy's underwear a lot? She doesn't always button her shorts. I'm guessing various shades of cotton underewear, in either french cut or thongs.
Monday, June 15th, 2009 01:49 am (UTC)
We're supposed to write about its effectiveness as a document. I think it'd be a lot easier for me if I hadn't read "Letter from Birmingham Jail" right before it. While DI is fairly effecting in using ethos, pathos, and logos (ethics, emotions, and logic, respectively), in my opinion, it is not as effective as LFBJ. LFBJ wins so much. (It was written by MLK in response to about a half dozens religious leaders who criticized his actions in an editorial in a newspaper. It was his attempt to convince them.)

I suppose you're right about Revy. She strikes me as a bit of a nudist, though. I have never worn any sort of jeans without underwear, but I'll take your word for its uncomfortable feeling rather than find out for myself. :p
Monday, June 15th, 2009 01:56 am (UTC)
Well, part of writing about it's effectiveness is writing about where it's INeffective. So you can talk about the ways in which it falls flat for you.
Monday, June 15th, 2009 12:49 am (UTC)
It's ironic that someone asked about Burn Notice on this post. I was just wondering if anybody on my flist was familiar with it, since I mostly circulate in the anime/manga fandoms.

It's pretty cool, and it's one of those shows that is clearly getting better as the series progresses. I got into it sometime last season after a few snarky comments hooked my attention, and finale was just OMG-Awesome.
Monday, June 15th, 2009 12:55 am (UTC)
ZOMG, another Burn Notice fan. I know almost no one who watches it IRL, and I didn't know if anyone on my flist is familiar.

I must admit, I'm a little worried about the direction the show's going to take ever since you-know-who got you-know-what'ed. I was surprised that happened so quickly. Though Michael is still trying to get back in, so presumably he still has to clear his name.

(I'm trying to be vague so I don't spoil anyone.)
Monday, June 15th, 2009 01:00 am (UTC)
Of course, whenever a show makes a big change like that they're always risking something. But I thought it was VERY fitting that Fiona did the deed. And the first episode of the new season quelled any fears I had about the writing team suddenly dying and needing to be replaced with soap writers (which HAS happened to a few favorite shows).
Monday, June 15th, 2009 10:11 pm (UTC)
You're right, it was very fitting. I cheered a little. And I guess I'm still wary because I had to drop another favorite show, House, after a life-altering incident followed by a witchhunt by an obsessed cop because I couldn't stand it anymore. It's just a little too familiar, so I'm holding my breath.

But what hasn't changed about it is the show-by-show stuff, with Michael being a Miami-based Robin Hood of sorts, and I always liked that bit the most. I'm definitely staying tuned.
Monday, June 15th, 2009 01:24 am (UTC)
*nods*

Yeah, it's one of those show I keep bumping against and will probably end up watching in its entirety at some point. For now, I'm just super-grateful when it's one while I'm at the gym.
Monday, June 15th, 2009 01:58 am (UTC)
I can see why it would be a good excercise show.
Monday, June 15th, 2009 01:55 am (UTC)
I don't think I'm on your flist, sadly, but I am a total fan of Burn Notice. I was into from the very beginning.

Fights scenes + explosions + MacGuyver shit + badass female lead + lack of wangst = my being a fan.

Also explains my love of Fringe. Though instead of MacGuyver shit, it would have to be science fiction shit.

I love Fringe because it's completely insane and surreal, but I love Burn Notice because it' so very real and of this realm.
Monday, June 15th, 2009 01:57 am (UTC)
I'm actually currently watching and really enjoying Fringe.
Monday, June 15th, 2009 02:03 am (UTC)
I noticed your Fringe icons. Very cool.

How far into it are you? Got any favorite or OTPs yet?
Tuesday, June 16th, 2009 02:55 am (UTC)
I'm really liking Peter/Olivia so far. I think they have nice chemistry.

And I'd like Olivia/old boyfriend if I actually thought they were going to have him be evil.

(I just watched episode 8 - no spoilers please.)
Monday, June 15th, 2009 02:35 am (UTC)
Exactly. Probably one of the things that originally attracted me to Burn Notice was the fact that Michael EXPLAINS everything as he does it, he gives his logic behind his actions so everyone's familiar with the cunning. I also love that he lays out his plans ahead of time, so when the plan blows up in his face it makes me go, "Well...fuck. What's he gonna do now?"

Fringe...I haven't had a chance to watch it yet. But I was kind of afraid it would just be Another Bad Fox show. While there are definitely some shows I like from Fox (House, M.D. and Bones for example) I feel they've gotten too soap-opra-y in their last seasons. Although both you and Red seem to like it, so I'll probably give it a shot.

The best sci-fi show I've run into recently is Primeval, which is a British show that was recently picked up by the SciFi network. I like it quite a bit and I would eagerly recommend it to someone who likes Doctor Who or the happier episodes of Torchwood.
Monday, June 15th, 2009 07:26 am (UTC)
Hah, while you're going through epic boredom, I'm outta my mind with work. Hmm... both school work and work work. Two more weeks til I get my life back. Right now, I just want to spin around and around on my spinny chair, get all dizzy, then go to sleep. That's all I'm capable of thinking up to entertain you with. *exhale*
Saturday, June 20th, 2009 12:03 am (UTC)
Well, I was bored for that one afternoon while I unpacked... now that I'm working basically full time as well, I don't think I'll be lacking things to do... for the foreseeable future.
Monday, June 15th, 2009 12:19 pm (UTC)
I'm wondering, what's your name? Hope it isn't too stupid question, but I'm genuinely curious.
Also, please explain me why so many people are involved in pairing wars. One's man meat is another man's poison, but I always thought that you don't have to fight over what you like and what you don't.
Thursday, June 18th, 2009 05:03 am (UTC)
My name is an excellent question... that I'm not going to answer. It's nothing personal, it's just that I've been really paranoid lately about keeping my online and real lives separate and while my name is pretty common... how I spell it isn't.

As for pairing wars... I think they get ugly because it gets personally. You care about a pairing, you care about the characters, and it gets harder to play nice when a.) you confused 'I don't like this pairing' with 'I don't like you b.) they confuse 'I don't like this pairing' with 'people who like this pairing are dumb/crazy/wrong' or c.) all of the above.
