Irony Alert. Or Maybe It's Just Murphey's Law.

So, when I got back from college, I finagled it so I had one free bookshelf for library and to-read books.

I was thinking this would
It's already full, even before I got to the library.

The Summer Reading List:

All The Fishes Come Home To Roost, Dracula (the original), The Sound & The Fury, Nation, The Audacity of Hope, Coin Locker Babies, Blood Cult, White Witch Black Curse, Wicked Lovely, Song of the Lioness (reread), Finders Keepers, Whitechapel Gods, Kitty & The Midnight Hour (reread) A Necessary Evil, Soul Music, Soon I Will Be Invincible, and a couple volumes of Basara

*deep breath*

Just to let you know? All the books I mentioned? Don't all fit of my To-Read bookshelf. So much for my clever plot.

Books tend to expand to fill all available space, and then some. I've been considering actually BUYING some new shelves, that's how bad it's gotten here, but I have terrifying visions of the floor collapsing under the weight. (Although then again, the thought of burying the creepy old nutter downstairs in an avalanche of manga does have a certain charm...)

They do! It's evil!

And are they yaoi manga? Because the thought of a creepy nutter being smushed under a horde of yaoi manga is kinda delightful.

Don't they just? There was a brief, shining moment when I'd acquired a few extra shelves and didn't buy/Mooch that many new books shortly thereafter where everything fit, but...stuff still comes in faster than it moves out, and I'm back to having the overspill stacked up on spare chairs...

And really, the stuff in the front room includes about 90% of my manga collection, so it's not all yaoi, not by a longshot, but there's definitely a fair bit! And now I want to go fetch the extra-smutty BL titles, and the polymorphously perverse porny Western comics, that are shelved in a different room and bring 'em up here, just to make the mental image even better. ;)

That is truly the dream.

Isn't it? I saw the icon and just went 'OMG must upload'. Especially because, while it's been a long time since I've watched DS9, Kira was pretty damn badass, Mirror version or not.
