They're Coming To See & You're Running To Hide

Last night mom was watching one of those uber-depressing English crime drama (no one does grimy and gray like the English) and one of the actors had the exact same accent as Alan Rickman. My mom said that was the Eton, utter class accent - is it? Is that what you call Alan Rickman's voice (besides Teh Sex)?

ON A COMPLETELY UNRELATED NOTE I have been craving Snape fic since I watched HBP. Does anyone have any recs? I like gen, Snape/Lily and Snape/Hermione (I don't want to hear it, okay?)

I'll have to take a look, then! ...I used to read so much HP fan fiction. Very little of it was romance, too.

I think my favorite sort were the ones where Snape and Harry were stuck in a situation where they had to rely on each other and there was a battle of wills. I'm not a fan of Snape/Harry romance, but I love them interacting.

...this is totally making me want to reread fic, too.

Also, I think part of the reason I'm not too fond of Snape in romance is that there's a lot of crap out there. Because if the general rule that 90% is crap and 10% is good, then it means that it's that much harder to find it in the HP fandom since it's so huge. Way too much stuff I've tried to read is OOC.

I used to read so much HP fanfic too! That was the last time I would just got to the pit and check out what the latest fics were (is so scarred).

Honestly, I think some pairings and some set-ups bring all the crappy writers to the yard. Snape+romance being a prime example (not the least because it's fucking hard to do right).

So I imagine in the Snape genre it's probably 96% crap.
