This was my favorite rec that came up when I asked for Harry Potter fanfic. It's Snape/Hermione and Hermione is pregnant while she finishes her last year at Hogwarts. And that set-up right there almost had me clicking the back button in the first three paragraphs. However, the quality of the writing sucked me in, and when I finished it, a couple days later I went back and started a more through reread.

Snape and Hermione are both drawn with depth and subtlety, their relationship is build from the ground floor in a realistic manner as the details of Hermione's pregnancy are slowly revealed.

Additionally, it has delicious, subtext/secondary plot-line with Draco/Hermione. The author writes the redeemed, clever Draco I wish Rowling had written (and thought she was going to), as well as wonderful, deep platonic relationships between Draco and Snape and Hermione and Harry.

Thanks for the rec! Definitely going to have to check this out. Although I agree that the pregnancy thing would have probably made me just as iffy as you.

You're welcome!

Yay!

Also, I really don't care for fics where Hermione gets pregnant in her last year -- it's just so... Ugh. Not Hermione at all. But this fic (as well as a couple others that involve her pregnant and in school) was just sooo damn good.

I know! And the situation for how it happens and Hermione's reasoning just makes so much sense. Very her.
