- i'll respond by asking you five questions so i can get to know you better.
- update your journal with the answers to the questions.
- include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions
1)What is your favorite mythological monster?
Vampires. I loved vampires before they were cool. Okay, scratch that, vampires were always cool. I loved vampires before they sparkled, back when Buffy was the It Girl to the hottest things to go bump in the night, when the book everyone asked you about when they found out you liked vampires was written by Anne Rice (tangentially, when I first checked the book out of the library, my mom asked me what I was reading and then told me to return it because I was too young for that book, and then I did. Parental guidance: that is how it's done).
2)If I was going to drop you into any fictional world, which would it be?
I'll take one ticket to Ile-Rien, please. AKA the best of Paris and London and their respective countries during a time period whose aesthetics I love (the 1940s, fyi) with level of woman's equality roughly equal to our current time period.
3)Which fandom you've been in has the most perfect gender dynamics?
Fandom or canon? To be quite honest, speaking just of the fandom, Naruto has one of the best I've seen. I've heard rumors of the epic Sakura bashing, but I was around for things like, you know, 80% of the comments to an anti-Karin post being about how Sakura is awesome too, why are you bashing one to glorify the other?
4)Do you think your astrological sign fits your personality?
It does to a ridiculous degree. I'm a Cancer and have four planets (the moon, the sun, Mercury and Venus) in that same house.
And it really reflected in my personality.
5)If you were going to pick a style of music that best describes you, what would it be?
Rock and roll, baby. ^_^

1.) Your thoughts on Elizabeth/Jack.
As in Pirates of the Caribbean? Wow, I've never even dipped my toes in that fandom, not even read a single fanfic, though I've definitely seen all of the movies (and I really hope they don't make the fourth).
I don't know what the popular view on the pairing is (I suspect it's very popular), but thinking about it, I like the pairing. This is only because I don't have a whole lot of use for Will, and I like Barbosa more with Tia Dalma.
I can see Elizabeth and Jack competing on the high seas, both having their own ships and crews, while occasionally trying to shoot the crap out of each other, doing a parle and then screwing back in either one of the captain's quarters to make up. As long as it was never treated as anything but an unstable, dangerous relationship for them both, I think it could be fun.
2.) You have a lot of icons with food in them. Discuss.
Part of the reason I have so many food icons is that like with the nature and other stock icons I don't want all of my icons to be fandom-related. I do love food, as my big butt will attest, and different foods mean different things to me.
For instance, all the ones with bananas I use to represent humor or attempts at humor or lightheartedness. The citrus slices are supposed to be used for posts or commentary that has content of a sexual nature, but I have never used it even though it's pretty. The pie and cookie icons are exclusively for people who win at the internets. The ice cream is just pretty while also being lighthearted. The pancakes are Zutara pancakes, because they're red and blue, and it's the only thing I've kept on my LJ that to me is Avatar-related. The peanut butter and jelly is something kind of everyday, boring or vanilla, and I use it for posts about my family or friends or randomness. I love the twinkie scene in Ghostbusters, and it's good for those moments when you need to say "That's a big twinkie." Mary Janes are probably my favorite candy that isn't chocolate, and part of the reason I have had so many cavities.
3.) Favorite fruit.
Perfectly ripened, with a crisp tart skin, and juicy flesh, sweet plums are my absolute favorite fruit. Good plums are very difficult to get from the supermarket, but when I find some, it's absolute heaven.
4.) Do you have any new shows or series lined up to watch?
My husband has been talking about having us watch Legend of the Seeker and the Mighty Boosh. We just finished the third season of IT Crowd, which I loved, and I've had one of my best friends badgering me to watch Dexter as well as BTVS so she can make me write fic for them.
I'm currently participating in a rewatch of Cowboy Bebop, and I'm planning on watching Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagan soon. I've also been meaning to finish Darker Than Black. I generally don't watch much TV, and if I do it's generally comedy or animation. I still haven't seen the second season of the Big Bang Theory, which Chad and I really enjoyed the first season of.
5.) Favorite character in FMA?
There are so many well-developed, likable characters, honestly I don't know which one is my favorite. Currently pinging the top of my happy-meter:
Favorite male character: Greed/Ling, because Ling is still in there and I find him adorable and funny and obnoxious, and honestly not too bad of a foil for Greed himself who is very independent and has never played by Father's rules.
Favorite female character: Izumi Curtis, because she's "just a housewife", like I am and she kicks so much ass.

You know, one reason I don't have many icons with food is that just seeing them makes me crave that kind of food. And I'd never even heard of Mary Jane candies before.

Those sound delicious. And it is so very hard to get good fruit. I know that I have gotten a hell of a lot of mushy apples as I hone my apple picking skillz.

Izumi is awesome.
