Sci-Fi Wire posted 13 Kickass Buffy moments but the ones they picked sucked (or at least, where not the awesomest moments Buffy has to offer), so I'm redoing their list for them. Because I'm nice like that.

These are just in the order that they occurred to me.

1.) Giles kills Ben.

2.) Buffy and the First Slayer fight in the desert in Restless.

3.) Cordelia's epic verbal smackdown of Buffy in the first episode of the second season. (I spent the entirely of OoTP wishing someone would give that talk to Harry).

4.) Giles and Buffy's talk where she tells him about losing her virginity.

5.) Fool for Love.

6.) Buffy smashes the Master's bones.

7.) Willow's slow, destructive walk through The Magic Box after Tara's death.

8.) Faith throws herself off a building to screw Buffy over.

9.) Faith's dreams in season 4.

10.) Faith and Buffy's fight in 'This Year's Girl'

11.) Xander's 'start with me. I've earned it.' in the end of season 6.

12.) The girl playing baseball who smiled in the end of season seven.

13.) Angel bites Buffy in the end of season three.

I'M SO SORRY BEN man that depressed me.

and I love that you gave the entirety of Fool for Love a slot, because pointing out all the awesome in that episode would clutter up the list. XD

and the baseball girl! they should write a comic about her. instead of whatever the hell it is they're doing now.

I was so awesome. "She's a hero. She's not like us."

and I love that you gave the entirety of Fool for Love a slot, because pointing out all the awesome in that episode would clutter up the list. XD

It really would. Although if I had to pick a moment, it would probably be when Spike in the past is stripping the coat off Nikki and talking to Buffy in the present. That was some brilliant cinematography.

You'll get no argument from me.

EPIC. I think all Buffy fans love Fool for Love, be they Buffy/Angel or Buffy/Spike.

It's a pretty epic episode.

"Fool for Love" and anything with Faith should most definitely be on the list. And Giles killing Ben ... aaaaawesoooome!

*sighs* I love Giles. He's got that Englishman charm and composure, but dude is bad ass in his own right and would do ANYTHING for his slayer.

And #13. Yum. Angel can bite me any time he wants. Spike, too.

Fool for Love is just such an awesome episode.

*sighs* I love Giles. He's got that Englishman charm and composure, but dude is bad ass in his own right and would do ANYTHING for his slayer.

Totally. One of the things I love about season three is the mirroring of Buffy and Giles and Faith and Wesley/the Mayor.

And #13. Yum. Angel can bite me any time he wants. Spike, too.

Spike can bite me anytime. I'm rather Booth take me to the gun range, though. (did that fandom switch make sense?)

Oh, definitely! It was so interesting to see the way Wesley/Faith worked in comparison to Giles/Buffy. Wesley always reminded me of a new or substitute teacher; every time he said "I'm in charge" he would have spit balls launched at the back of his head.

HAHA! Yeah, the fandom switch made total sense. Booth is a thousand times more interesting than Angel was. I'd tap it. And then go back for an encore performance.

*nod*

And I like that Faith actually brought it up - clearly she has spent a great amount of time mulling over what her life would have been like if Giles had been her watcher.

Which, actually, is an AU I would like to read. Although I'm not terribly sure anything would be different. But maybe. Giles was Ripper at one point.

True, true.

I'd like to think things WOULD have been a little different for Faith. I mean yeah, she kinda had that rebel-the-system streak in her from the get go, but I think Giles could have handled her and curbed that. Or redirect it into a more proactive use. Just look what he did with Buffy.

Basically, Wesley was nice to look at but he was entirely too green to be a Watcher, and certainly not for someone like Faith.

I agree.

Wesley was FAR too green and naive to help Faith. Giles or (in what would be an interesting AU) older!Wes, would have much better luck.

3.) Cordelia's epic verbal smackdown of Buffy in the first episode of the second season. (I spent the entirely of OoTP wishing someone would give that talk to Harry).

YES. I wanted to smack Harry so hard and tell him to stop being a whiny little brat, but Cordy would've done such a better job.

It would have been EPIC.

Indeed.

And, I must say that Faith's dreams in season four were so perfectly in line with how she experienced season three that I'm always amazed when I rewatch. I have to wonder how many of the show's writers have psych degrees, because I think you'd need the extra training to be able to build such a deeply psychologically complex and consistent character.
