The people at locked_trigun are very IC, but when I venture out of my community to ff.net or mediaminer or even Trinut, I find myself going "OMGWTF".

*nods* There seems to be four main genres in Trigun fic away from the good writers I know: Fluff, wangst, fluffy wangst, and wangsty fluff. Where's the good angst? Where's the IC characters?

So wangst would be bad angst, correct?

*pats* I'm sorry. I know how frustrating it is to not find the fics you want to read.

Wangst would be those fics where Vash suddenly kills himself for little or no reason, where he's acting like a textbook Weepy Uke hanging over Wolfwood like a 13 year old fangirl or pining over Meryl as if her being gone was the Worst Thing That Could Have Ever Happened. . .

Ah, wangst right. Otherwise know as a horrific mauling on the character involved.

Having him tied to her bed appealed to Meryl sense of order. The ropes were coiled neatly around his wrists and ankles, the knots were tied off with great care, ends perfectly even. Vash himself didn’t fit; Meryl always had the urge to pick out the metal twisted into his skin, smooth away the scars - or at lest straighten them. Still, the slight niggling sense of something being askew was drowned out in the pleasure of having the Human Typhoon at her mercy.

A Vash tied to her bed was a Vash who wasn’t out wrecking havoc. Really, it was just good business.

And as for the donuts...

Meryl straddled him, balanced over his hips, keeping her quim a teasing fraction above his erect cock. There was donut in her hand, just above where he could reach it.

“I’m very hungry,” he said, gazing at Meryl plaintively. She leaned forward, moving away from his prick but allowing him to nibble at the donut, sugar and cinnamon dusting his lips.
