Sakura, ilu.
Also, I would have never guessed that in a chapter that did Sakura/Sasuke right, they would also give major hints at my other two OTPs. It's like Kishimoto is actually writing well. Weird.

But you are right in being cautiously optimistic about this. As we all might wish that Sakura will break Sasuke's face, it is entirely possible someone - anyone - will stop her in the last second, like Yamato has done way back.
On the other hand - I wonder if Kishimoto did this very deliberately so Sasuke wouldn't been able to know just how well she has improved over the past four or five years, and it'll become a major shock to him. I mean, he knows that Naruto should at least be at his level, considering they have been in the past . . .
But that might be giving Kishimoto too much credit.
I've read a comment somewhere that Sakura's decision echoes what Itachi has said: that ninja has to make hard decisions to do what is necessary for the well-being for everyone, and how Sakura's sacrifice is similar to Itachi's sacrifice as well. Very interesting.

I know! It totally pinged my shipper sense too!
I got a indescribably weird vide when Kakashi just figured it all out and just stated it. Maybe it's just my shipping goggles going on default-high and makes me go to the conclusion that Kakashi knows Sakura well enough that she'll might do this.
Sadly, it is all to possible that there is a cockblock going or Sakura is going to wimp out at the last second.

That is a good point. And I heard someone else mention that this is showing that Sakura is able and willing to make the hard, adult choices that Naruto isn't.

Honestly, I'm not holding my breath on this bout of awesomeness lasting long. I think she's going to go in, have her ass handed to her and Naruto/Gaara is going to save her.
But this was a squee-able chapter. Sai was awesome. Hokage!Kakashi fills me with joy. Sakura getting a moment to shine and show she's NOT some flaky tart and IS capable of taking matters into her own hands is awesome. I think this is the first fight in a very, very long time that I'm actually interested in.
At the same time though, I'm bracing myself for Kishifail.

Yeah, that's the most likely future. It's why I'm likely not going to read the latest chapter unless my flist starts squeeing.

I did catch those little shippy moments, too - particularly the Kakashi ones - he totally gets her. There's also a Yamato/Kakashi moment in there too, with Yamato being all 'We can has Kaka-sempai as the Sexy-kage,' *hearts hearts hearts*
It's funny to see Sai feeling guilty about what he said to Sakura, and how he screwed the whole thing up because he didn't really understand the relationships between the people involved. I love how easily he says "She didn't come all this way to confess."
There's a lot of fun to be had reading between the lines this chapter - more than I've had in a while. I still think if she finds Sasuke first, she's either going to end up healing him or she'll - at most - get one good punch in on him.

Which just makes so much sense, you know? Because of course Sai would be crap at understanding and predicting emotions, much less saying the right thing at the right time.

This has just encouraged me to actually go back and read all the chapters I haven't read, since Kishi was disappointing me. I loved that KakaSaku moment. However, I keep wondering if this is all being done so that Naruto will finally realize what he has to do and he's going to keep Sakura from having to kill someone she loves (which will pave way for NaruSaku, but that's not a bad thing of course..)

Maybe it was because the translation, but I didn't get something... She knew how Naruto was going to react, so, did she make the cofession to test waters with him about who was more important? or to make him hate her before she killed Sasuke? or because she knows she is probably going to die? or because she got chicken when she got face to face with him, and tried to hurt Naruto the less possible?
I liked that Sai showed remorse (is an achievement for a guy who felt no emotions)
And I also think it was a good way to write about Sakura loving Sasuke...
I know she is not going to win... because Naruto is "about teamwork", and she is working alone (possibly she is not even going to find sasuke, because he is in another dimension)...
Uhm, I would like to hear your opinion... do you really think Sakura loves Sasuke in a romantic way?... because everyone seems to think so, but she hasn't said so... Do you think she is going to die or get badly hurt? I don't think Naruto could forgive that...I want for sakura to land a good punch on Sasuke's face... but well, I think that if they face each other, it's going to be turbulent for Sakura, in an emotional level (if he atacks her, it's going to be a confirmation that he needs to be killed... and if she atacks him, is going to be a confirmation for Sasuke that there is nothing in Konoha for him...)

I think KISHIMOTO is writing Sakura in love with Sasuke, because I doubt he has the subtlety to comprehend of a woman loving a man she isn't related to that strongly in a platonic way. That said, I don't think fanwriters need to write Sakura in love with Sasuke.

She confessed so he would let Sasuke go; But she kne that Naruto was enver going to let go... so why bother with the confession thing? for the 1% of probability that it could work?

Actually, I'd like if Hinata was mentioned again after, y'know, confessing and nearly dying.

...It could happen...
Kishimoto comes and goes, it's actually quite impressive. As it stands, I love this. And I really liked the whole "Kakashi is the default Hokage" thing. It kind of gets Kakashi in there as the unofficial Hokage, but doesn't mean that he needs to die for Naruto to take over. This is good. I loved how he immediately guessed that Sakura planned to kill Sasuke herself, it speaks worlds about how well he knows his team/can read a situation.

but it was a totally irrational belief, so I really shouldn't be smug at all BUT IT'S FUN 8D

Although I must add it's still early enough for a cock-block.

I think Sakura really cares about him and like the manga said is probably seriously hurt and disappointed about the choices he's made and what he's become. Not to mention is really angry by how much it hurt Naruto a bit as well.
I'm thinking what might happen is Sakura and whoever she has with her instead of fighting Sasuke she probably winds up taking out Zetsu who is probably with both Madara and Sasuke and The Uchihas get away. In all likely hood wth Sakura getting seriously wounded and or beat up in the process.
I'm still hoping Sasuke had a nice chat with(or mother of all lectures from) Itachi while he was dead and is secretly now trying to figure out ways to kill Madara. Because then he could have some leverage if he ever tried to go back to leaf with the council, aka I killed two of the biggest pain in the butts out there you better not kill me. Though Sasuke would still probably have a hefty time after killing those Samurai.
The fight with Madara where they beat him I hope would be Sasuke and Naruto after some faltering getting back in that awesome working together swing of things and taking him out after Sakura punches Sasuke. (augh I need another Sai icon again after my hope in his developing has been restored a bit)

And this sounds disappointingly plausible. I know it's what's most likely to happen, but I really don't want to see Sasuke and Naruto becoming BFFs again - I just think it is unrealistic after everything that has happened. However, I think that is what Kishimoto will write.
