Woe Is I
The highlight of my day is probably going to be watching the latest episode of TVD and/or possibly going to the library to pick up a book, which leaves me a lot of time to lie on the couch bemoaning my fate and hitting the refresh on my email account.
So talk to me flist. Ask me questions, order me to beta, query my about pairings, link me to things, you know the drill.

1.) Liar Game (http://www.onemanga.com/Liar_Game/). I'm not exactly fond of the art for this series, because it's honestly not that good, but I am a huge fan of the concept and execution. I also am kind of a big fan of the "hah hah, I tricked you!" and then "Ahah, but no, I tricked you!" plot things.
2.) Future Diary (http://www.onemanga.com/Mirai_Nikki/)
I like this series even though it's put out by Tokyopop because it's actually very creepy. Like, you think it's all cutesy at first, and you're like, d'awww, there's a cute stalker girl chasing this little whiny guy around, before you realize that, NO REALLY, SHE'S FUCKING CRAZY and DANGEROUS and KILLS EVERYONE WHO GETS CLOSE TO THE MC and the main character needs to get the fuck away and then and then, everyone slowly goes crazy, main character too. And the main character just... kind of snaps at some point, after a long, lonely downward spiral after several several disappointments with other people, and trying to make friends with other people who betray him and allow bad things to happen to him. And it's the... transformation of everyone in the series that I found particularly interesting. And the creepiness. I really like creepy. As much as I'd love everything to work out for everyone, it's far more interesting to see how crazy and disappointed the MC is going to get.
Query:
1.) How did you get into fanfiction?
2.) Do you have an absolute favorite character? (Or if you can't pick one, then a handful.) If so, why?
3.) What's your plan for the FUTURE?

Ha ha, these drive me CRAZY. But I know a lot of people who like them (witness the popularity of Death Note).

*raises eyebrow*
Wow. That does sound worth checking out, although again, not my typical manga.
1.) How did you get into fanfiction?
I realized that other people had the same kind of stories in their heads, and that they typed them out and posted them on the internet.
2.) Do you have an absolute favorite character? (Or if you can't pick one, then a handful.) If so, why?
Nope, I don't have one favorite character, and my list of favorites would probably break my keyboard. If you're curious about a specific fandom, I could probably narrow it down for you.
3.) What's your plan for the FUTURE?
Go to Europe with my mother, come back, get a job, get a better job in the publishing industry, move somewhere epic.

What do you love best about her? How do you think the writers are managing her character? Just. . . general Kahlan love.
no subject
I think I love her the most because she's an Action Girl who nothing can keep down - not losing her powers, not being trapped in a cave, not being in prison, not having someone else effecting her body.
Secondary reasons I love her is the epic dresses (how I miss the white one), the way the writer don't drag out the R/K romance for evers, the way she is growing less and less suspicious of Cara, her hair, her knives, her boobs....
And I think the writers and the actress love Kahlan as much as I do, which fills me with hope.

Have you seen this weeks QC? I was biting my nails at the last page.
And I look forward to looking through your favorites! You AtLA is MUCH more balanced than mine. Mine is like, ZUTARA, MORE ZUTARA, some Suki/Sokka, ZUTARA, and a little girlslash to balance it out.

IT IS JUST GOING TO END SO BADLY FOR HER.
But I think it's getting more and more likely that Angus and Faye are going get together, and that will be nice. I'm looking forward to it.
As for favorite dynamics in ships... I like a lot of different ones, but I feel that long-term, functional and loving marriages are perennially underrepresented in media.

Oh, that blog. The fish story made me laugh so hard I felt lightheaded.

and
like as much as I was so excited they went with the secret kid thing in the fourth movie (I will admit, it is a trope I have a weakness for), I was REALLY SAD it wasn't a daughter.
can you imagine a Marian raising her and Indy's daughter? that girl would KICK SO MUCH ASS.
*goes back to writing fic in her head*

I am simultaneously amused and disturbed by how easy the Eva fanartists find it to turn the Angels into TOTALLY CUTE ADORABLE LITTLE SNUGGLEMUFFINS:

I mean really, I should not be going "AWWWWWWWW SOCUTE" when looking at a picture of a Mass-Produced Eva:

What are your predictions and/or hopes for Mockingjay? Which of the past winners did you like? What do you like about Katniss, what do you dislike? What parts of this tale to you feel we dont' need to see anymore of? (and which do we need more of)?

What are your predictions and/or hopes for Mockingjay?
I think we're going to find out more about Cinna, and I have a feeling we are going to see Katniss is some kind of HG area again.
Which of the past winners did you like?
I have had a soft spot for Johanna since her one-line description in the first book, and by the end/on reread of Catching Fire, Finnack grew on my a lot. And I've always had a fondness for Haymitch and his relationship with Katniss.
What do you like about Katniss, what do you dislike?
What really makes Katniss stand out to me is her sheer ruthlessness. This is DEFINITELY a surviver and she is absolutely believable as the one forced to provide for her family at a very, very young age. Honestly, I can't think of a thing about her I don't adore.
What parts of this tale to you feel we dont' need to see anymore of? (and which do we need more of)?
I think we've seen enough of the Capital. We know why it needs to be brought down and we've seen enough of it's innerworkings that it's not a faceless evil, but we have DEFINITELY seen enough of it. I want to see more of the other Districts and more of the rebellion itself.

I hope we do find out more about Cinna (and hopefully more than just something about a grusome death or something...I mean, even if he did die, something else too). I agree there will probably be some sort of HG area again too. Not sure how or why, but then again wasn't expecting it for Catching Fire either. Wouldn't have thought it needed ahead of time for the plot, but I loved that part because it seemed to focus in on basics and move the plot. Probably because all Katniss attention narrows down to one goal, as opposed to all the emotional yoyoning over the love triangle and the intrigue (um, yoyoing sounds bad, but I don't mean it that way...)
I'm hoping that we get to see the rebellion too.

Same here. If he just dies, and that's all we learn that's new about him, I'm going to be really disappointed.

Going back into the arena in CF grew on me - and now I think it would be a waste to lose the symmatry if the area isn't used again.

Oh, I agree (and I say this as someone who loved CF). I think the finale of that book really honed her.
