–I'm not a fan of Rachel/Finn, but they were adorable in this episode. The Quinn/Puck was cute (and actually believable in the flashback) but come out of left field.

–I'm not sure if it's Lea Michele or Rachel Berry, but I love how she'll kind of squeeze her face right before she kicks out a note of epicness.

–The splicing between Vocal Adrenaline's performance and Quinn giving birth was awesome.

–I desperately wanted to Rachel to smack Jesse in the face with his trophy.

So those were my Glee thoughts. Yours?

this was the best Glee episode since Sectionals, hands down. the second half of the season has been disappointing to say the least, but I think they got a little bit of original magic back into the show for the finale. the Journey medley was okay, but not their best performance ever imo, mostly because Finn and Rachel hogged the spotlight the whole time. and I love Rachel's voice, but I really would've loved to hear more than two lines delivered by the rest of the club. Bohemian Rhapsody, on the other hand, blew my mind (more the choreography than the vocals, but it was still an amazing number).

but YES, the only thing missing was an epic Rachel/Jesse revenge showdown/sing off/something. I don't think Jonathan Groff will be coming back for next season, though, so we've probably missed our chance of seeing one. :(

Pretty much yes.

Honestly, I had a lot of affection for the Journey medley, but yes, Rachel and Finn do get a ridiculous amount of singing time (and honestly, I don't mind with Rachel. I was only sorry we didn't get to see her tear up an old broadway standard for the solo).

It was - especially how they used the choreography to emphasize Quinn's arc, and sometimes, the Rachel/Jesse relationship.

As glad as I am that the Glee club lost with grace, I REALLY think the show under-used Jesse. They should have done more with him being conflicted and there should have been a better last conversation between Jesse and Rachel than the egging scene, imho.

I really agree with what you said about Jesse. As is, he feels like a toss-away character, where he could have been such a good plot-point. *shrugs* At this point I hope that he does stay away, because I can't see it being anything more than messy and dumb.

Agreed. And this way I can imagine that they don't meet again until they're both on Broadway and Jesse has to bust his ass to win Rachel back.

I was kind of up and down on this episode. I agree that Vocal Adrenaline's Bohemian Rhapsody was mind blowingly good and the Quinn intercuts were fantastic. I wanted to want New Directions to win, but Vocal Adrenaline really was sooo much better.
I don't know if Cory Montieth is getting better or i'm just appreciating him more, but i adored the way he said "I love you" to Rachel. Just quiet and sure. It was kind of a painful contrast to Will's I love you to Emma, which came out sounding far too much like a soap I love you, all shaky and dramatic. This killed me because I was DYING for an epic Will/Emma scene, where he chases after her and gets all dramatic, but this felt kind of meh to me.
My biggest problem was the it felt like all the big emotional moments felt rushed. The last time we saw Emma and Will together, he was reeling from his divorce and messing around with other women and trying to find himself. Now he knows he loves her and wants to fight for her? Same with Finn and Rachel. I felt like they were kind of hinting at Finn still having feelings for Quinn. Im not a Finn/Quinn shipper, but he thought he was going to be a dad and share a life with her. I wanted just ONE scene where he vocalizes that to ANYONE before he declares his love for Rachel. The declarations of love are all moments I wanted, just not so soon.

I have to admit, I really loved hearing them sing Dont Stop Believing with the "new" kids. That and Over The Rainbow was a lovely way to end the season.

Agreed. In that moment, I really appreciated Finn.

Pacing, especially in the last nine episodes, has been this shows biggest problem, imho.

I thought the episode was okay, it was good, but not enough to make me scream SEASON 2!!!! like, Vampire Diaries did. LOL

Word. I think all the awesome Glee had in the first 13 episodes fled to TVD for their LAST thirteen episodes.

I'm with you on Puck/Quinn and Rachel/Finn--it was cute, and like [livejournal.com profile] rameena said, Finn's delivery of "I love you" was perfect, but they're still not my faves. Especially Puck/Quinn, as the latter seems to have lost all sense of her grounding personality. I will say, however, that Mark what's-a-face is a thousands times better at acting when he's working off Dianna Argon than when he's working off girl-who-plays-Mercedes, and I enjoy watching him do good work. Still, it looks like that writer won out this week.

The other problem with the Rachel/Finn was that they got all the solos again, and I have a kneejerk reaction to the show giving them all the solos, especially as a shipping mechanism.

I think I need to do an entire post about Will Schuester and my love/hate relationship with him. I did a happy dance when Emma said she was seeing her dentist, and I threw a pillow at my TV when Will snagged her and kissed her. WHY WILL WHY.

I am also still in denial about the egging-type scenes with Jesse.

OH, AND SUE SYLVESTER, I LOVE HER FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER and I just--love the fact that she argued with Figgins for Glee and I love her and Will's relationship and I think their scene was my favorite part of the entire episode.

p.s. did it seriously take quinn like five minutes to have the baby, what.

Without Sue, I'd hate Glee. She makes the series wonderful.

I really didn't like the choreography of Vocal Adrenaline at all. I thought it was cheesy, and not only that but it tended to be all Jesse, Jesse, Jesse and barely showcased anyone on their team but him. I, in general, hate the cheese-tasticness of showchoir blocking though (which is hilarious since I was in one and competed at the state level XD). Vocal Adrenaline and their performance would have been my nightmare. I really liked the Journey-medley and I liked that it wasn't as cheese-tastic as the others.

Oh Puck...I love you so much. Stop being a man-whore and just get with Quinn or Santana and call it good. XD (then again, I love his man-whorishness). I do wish he'd get more opportunity to sing more. Actually I really like Santana too. She has a wonderful voice.

Anyway, I loved the episode. I do worry about next season though, because it can only get more ridiculous, and I like the current levels of crazy in my Glee right now. Sue might be my favorite antagonist of all time though. She is just full of win.

Did you catch the part where they formed a vagina and Jesse was the baby being born? (This was my friend's observation, and I hit her with a pillow for it, because it was true.)

Also dittoing you on the Puck. (I keep being like "well, I'd be okay with Puck/Santana" and then I remember "NOOOOOOOOO SANTANA/BRITTNEY FOREVER.")

Haha, I know. Santana/Brittney is just the most adorable thing ever. I love how Santana accepts Brittney's special brand of blonde stupid and never puts her down for it. <3

I say Santana/Brittney with an occasional side of Puck (OT3) XD

And O__o nooo, I didn't notice the vagina thing at all. I'll have to go back and watch that to see the horrors of it.

I recently realized (in part thanks to this episode) that in my headcanon they were threesome-ing it up when Santana realized she liked kissing Brittney better than kissing Puck. :D

it's the part where they're in a circle around him, doing jazz hands or something. JUST SO YOU KNOW WHAT TO LOOK FOR. :-b
