Question can be as wacky as you want. Ask me about tv shows, characters, fanfic in general, fandom issues/meta, anything about any of my stories specifically. Whatever you want.

I kind of have some ideas as to what attracts you to a series, but what will get you involved in a fandom? Is the fandom a huge part of what you're inspired to write fanfic for or does it not matter as much to you?

Actually having a fandom is a big part of what will get me to write fic - it's especially influential in getting me to write LOTS of fic.

I write original stuff, for publishing, and with that I have to be able to write it and know I'm not going to get much feedback, if any, and not right away. Fic in fandom is part of a conversation, so if I write something and no one responds, or there isn't much response... it's unlikely I'll keep pounding out fics.

qualapec already sort of touched on this, but what attracts you too a series (not nessacarily to become involved in fandom but just to a series, either TV or comic or book)? And then what makes it a series where you would then seek out a fandom (once again not nessaccarily to participate in but just to see)?

What attracts me to a series: good characters, especially good female characters, in an ensemble or at least character-driven format.

What attracts me to fandom: a.) that there is a fandom there b.) there being something that I want that the show isn't giving me, be it a fair shake for the female characters, a couple getting together, or just more of the characters I love.
