I got six and a half hours of miserable, nightmare-filled sleep last night, so instead of answering these two memes, I'm going to throw them at my flist, because I want to hear your answers.

fannish5 : List 5 works (where work could be a series, movie, book, episode, or even a character) that you feel are misunderstood, and why.

What series, movie, book, episode, or character do you think is misunderstood by the fandom? Tell tell.

Personally, Dollhouse (neither as good or as bad as people say) and Snape (for obvious reasons) are on my list.

For sure the "greatest romance EVAH" people- because stalking/controling.etc is the healthiest way to start a relationship.

To add to list (because I can apparently only come up with characters and was in a Naruto comm earlier) Sasuke as seen by fangirls as anything other then the traitor/f-d up bastard he is. Um, hello, abandoning your home to train with pedo guy and trying to stab the people who care about you when you run into them again =/= to sexy. Subcategory of this fandom fail, the section of fandom that has to take Sakure/Hinata etc and throw them under the bus because they get in the way of the SasuNaru action they want to see happened here- because this type of yaoi fangirls warp almost any female character that get in the way of their otp.

This could be partially ship bias, but I tend to see some amounts of Bella/Edward in Buffy/Angel. I always felt like Angel (tall, dark, broody, over preptective, at least minus the sparkles) held Buffy back from standing on her own as kickass individual slayer/etc so people that OTP the two of them.... No. (Not that Buffy's great shakes at working out the whole 'healthy relationship' thing with anyone to start, but she doesn't fall all over herself for any other guy the same way.)

Honestly, I have a little sympathy for this, because I am am so down with roaring rampages of revenge. What makes Sasuke's story unsatisfying is that I know he will escape all consequences of abandoning his home to train with a pedo.
