In Which Elena Is Indiana Jane
Reason I love TVD number eleventy billion and five: sometimes it's the girl staring while the vampire is asleep... and he calls it creepy. Oh, show, I have such a total girl-boner for you.
In the old-news catagory, Nina Debrov has the Best Job Ever.
I was so flaily this episode. Bonnie working with the team! Caroline and Bonnie mending fences! Everything ever between Caroline and Liz! Mason dying!
I just about died at "wrong boy-toy." I am loving how they're developing Damon getting over Katherine. *thumbs up, show*
As for the very, very end:
This is not the end of the Stefan/Elena ship and I love love love how broken-up about this Stefan is. Seeing how much he cares about Elena is satisfying to me on such a visceral level. And Damon was de-wait for it- lightful when he was trying to apologize.

All of thy sounds awesome.
But it automatically would have been better if something bad happened to Jackass at the same time as Mason ;)(no subject)

That scene was great--and I loved that it worked for their characters. Stefan's endlessly patient on the one hand, but I can imagine him being kinda prickly in a few ways too: like being stared at. And Elena's a love-struck 17 year old girl.
I also liked how they handled Stefan's reaction to breaking up. I loved that they weren't afraid to show him crying--before, because he knew it was coming, and later, when it did. I like that Stefan is NOT a stoic guy like he seemed in the first few eps. He's flirty, and social, and wears his heart on his sleeve. He's so SINCERE, LOL.
I kind of love him for being everything Damon isn't.
And then I love Damon for being Damon, again.
I like that they didn't chicken out of killing Mason. I DID NOT WANT IT TO HAPPEN while I was watching--because it's bad for Jeremy (who has no reason to be so loyal to these vampires! omg what is that idiot doing?!) and because it prevents me from thinking that Damon is anything less than what he is. (fangirl me is sad. wah.)
And I really appreciate that the show went there. Even though I didn't want it to happen, while I was watching I kept trying to think of a way out of the scene, and I couldn't. Short of someone barging in, I could think of not one reason Damon wouldn't kill Mason in that context. It's just his character.
