Reason I love TVD number eleventy billion and five: sometimes it's the girl staring while the vampire is asleep... and he calls it creepy. Oh, show, I have such a total girl-boner for you.

In the old-news catagory, Nina Debrov has the Best Job Ever.
I was so flaily this episode. Bonnie working with the team! Caroline and Bonnie mending fences! Everything ever between Caroline and Liz! Mason dying!

I just about died at "wrong boy-toy." I am loving how they're developing Damon getting over Katherine. *thumbs up, show*

As for the very, very end:

This is not the end of the Stefan/Elena ship and I love love love how broken-up about this Stefan is. Seeing how much he cares about Elena is satisfying to me on such a visceral level. And Damon was de-wait for it- lightful when he was trying to apologize.

I think Bonnie, Jeremy, and Sheriff should band together to form the counter-vampire club.

They've already got Alaric and future-Tyler in the vampire club with Elena, so we need a sane, non-Founders group to balance them while not being enemies. Bonnie could be that, and Jeremy would come around too. I even think they could get Caroline, given a year or two. Because we really need some people of power in this town who don't worship the vampires/brothers but who do want to protect the town in a reasonable, non-exterminating manner.

P.S. If I were in that town, I'd be right beside the founders council and Sheriff Forbes and the Gilberts of history screaming "DIE VAMPIRES DIE!" because I'm just not that egalitarian about my place on the food chain.

This is also why I can't seem to really enjoy True Blood despite multiple attempts.

I also liked how they handled Stefan's reaction to breaking up. I loved that they weren't afraid to show him crying--before, because he knew it was coming, and later, when it did. I like that Stefan is NOT a stoic guy like he seemed in the first few eps. He's flirty, and social, and wears his heart on his sleeve. He's so SINCERE, LOL.

I KNOW, RIGHT? My heart was just clenching as I watched that scene. And Stefan is sincere. That's a great way to describe him. It reminds me of how much I enjoy Stefan when he's being social; his apology dinner to Elena and the dinner he had with Elena and Bonnie spring to mind. As well as the hellishly awkward double date with Caroline and *gag* Matt. Stefan is just really good with people.

And, as the crying scene shows, really, really loves Elena.

I like that they didn't chicken out of killing Mason

Me too. Mainly because TVD is SO ready to knock off the ladies that I really approved of them not giving Mason a magical out, like they do so often with Alaric and Jeremy and John.

so we need a sane, non-Founders group to balance them while not being enemies. Bonnie could be that, and Jeremy would come around too.

Agreed. That's one of the reasons that even when I don't like Bonnie, I like the role she plays. She opens up a lot of narrative opportunities and represents a more realistic, rational reaction to the vampires.

P.S. If I were in that town, I'd be right beside the founders council and Sheriff Forbes and the Gilberts of history screaming "DIE VAMPIRES DIE!" because I'm just not that egalitarian about my place on the food chain.

Let's me honest, there are a RIDICULOUS number of reasons NOT to get into True Blood. I am not even sure why I watch it.
