Glee: I hated everything except the girls' song and Kurt's plot line, but Kurt's plot line I loved like burning. God, Kurt was just so fierce and said the perfect, perfect things. I get tired of him crying every episode but that was a small quibble. I loved how after the jock kissed him, Kurt just shoved him back and looked horrified. His face! I am not sure what bulletproof kink that whole arc hit, but it hit them like burning. I don't even really want to think about the rest of the episode, though.

Community was also fantastic. I don't have much to say beyond that I enjoyed the hell out of this episode and hope they continue to do more episode like this, instead of the bigger, less satisfying episodes they've been doing lately.

One more thought on TVD: I rewatched the Rose/Damon sex scene, and I figured out some of what bugged me so much about it. The making-out bits were decent enough but the post-coital blocking was so weird. Seriously. When we cut back to them, Rose didn't look like she'd taken her top off or was mussed at all and then Damon is is nothing but a blanket? What, did his hard, sparkly penis catch a chil? The whole thing was just weird. Just because they're not in love is not excuse for a sub-par sex scene! Does not one remember the epically hot Mal/Nandi scene from Firefly?

re: Glee: what'd you hate about the Puck storyline?

You mean, besides the message that girls like guys who treat them like crap, girls putting up with guys treating them like crap, Artie wanting to get back with Brittany after treating her like crap, and Artie and Puck singing a stupid song together? ONLY EVERYTHING.

THANK YOU.

I think you just summed up my entire feelings on the episode. Other than Kurt, I was very disappointed.

Yeah, the sex-negative messages and the misogynistic bullshit of the rest of the episode really drove me up a wall. I literally could not watch the kiss between Will and Beiste.

The Beast storyline is what I hated the most.

But Kurt's = Love

like darren chris~ i loved him in AVPM and love him just as much in glee :D

Yeah, Beiste's storyline was RIDICULOUSLY painful. To the point where I wish she'd left, because then I can image her going off to another school and meeting people who will treat her with respect.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who disliked Puck and Beiste's storyline. I keep wanting to like Puck and Artie, but then they keep turning out to be dicks.

Kurt definitely made the episode worth it, though. My heart was in my mouth when he ran after the jock, and his expression after that kiss just burned.

Yeah, I used to like Rachel/Puck, but now I don't really enjoy reading it because it's so clear to me that show-Puck is just a total dick.

When you link something from 'his hard, sparkly penis', my brain tells me not to click it... but I do anyway xD

Also, I agree with the whole post-coital blocking scene - it's always annoyed me about TVD (in season one, Elena sleeps in Stefen's bed wearing a bra... who does that?)

Really, who could resist?

Well, I would, but that's only because I have larger boobs and they're more comfortable/sexier in a bra than without. If I had Elena Debrov's figure, though...

I know! Kurt's arc made me hate Artie more, in a way. Artie? THIS is what a ruined first time looks like. That was . . . hell, pretty much kiss-rape.

It totally was kiss-rape.

Fucking Artie.

At this point I'd be happiest if the show decided to winnow it down to its three strong points: Sue Sylvester, Kurt, and badass musical numbers. Will would only show up to be insulted by Sue. Oh, and Brittany and Santana could hang out, too, but mostly Brittany.
Sunday, November 21st, 2010 07:49 pm (UTC)
Personally, I really, really want to see Brittany and Santana's relationship explored.
Sunday, November 21st, 2010 08:37 pm (UTC)
That'd be awesome, too. I'm just a tad annoyed at Santana for rejecting Brittany, back in Duets.
Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010 03:19 am (UTC)
I'm not mad, because it was an absolutely in-character thing for Santana to do, and could have lead to some awesome plots.

I'm made that the writers dropped that whole arc like a hot potato.

Hmm . . . to rephrase, Santana rejecting Brittany with no followup whatsoever. Maybe have Santana being the one Brittany nudged the meatball to, showing a mending of fences.
