Homygod, you guys, homygod.

So, I just got back from Tangled and I am DEAD OF ADORABLENESS.

HOMG.

The trailers made me think it would be okay, my flist made me think it would be good, and my actual viewing experience? I was vibrating with glee.

(HOW DID I NOT KNOW THE ACTOR WHO PLAYS CHUCK WAS THE VOICE OF THE HERO? HOW?)

Rapunzel was fantastic; both believable as someone who had never been outside her tower, a teenage girl, and as someone who is quite clever in her own right. Seriously, they could have made a whole movie of just Flynn trying to beguile her and Rapunzel being all, "I haz frying pan, will whack?"

I loved her first step outside and how freaking versatile her hair was.

And the horse. THE HORSE. Oh, how I loved the horse! The first scene with Flynn trying to escape and the horse going after him had me in stitches.

The romance was ADORABLE (yes, I know I'm overusing that word. and caps), Flynn reminded me of Dimitri in all the best ways. *bounces* The villain was fucking chilling. Her emotional/verbal abuse of Rapunzel was so realistic it was almost too much for a Disney film.

My one complaint is that I wish Rapunzel had had more to do in the finale but considering that she was an integral part of all the previous fights and that her weapon of choice (which is coded as INCREDIBLY female) was held up as a gold standard of weaponry, PLUS the fact that the original fable is all, "agency: you have none," I'll give it a pass.

Okay, flist, time to linkspam: give me your reaction posts, your fics, your icons!
