So I just finished the first season/serious of Misfits. At the moment, I don't have any thoughts that are burning to get out into the ether but if you, like me, have watched this show seduce people on your flist and are on the fence about giving it a try, here are some things you might want to know before making a choice (pretty unspoilery):
1.) Tone. It's dark but not bleak. This show isn't going to make you feel warm and fuzzy inside but it's also not going to kill your soul.
2.) This may say more about me than I should admit but I did not find Simon as creepy as I expected too.
3.) FANTASTIC MUSIC. Seriously, I would have watched this show a lot sooner if I'd know how great the music choices are.
4.) This show does not have a hot cast (excluding two main cast members and two reoccurring secondary characters). However, as you get to know the characters and get attached, their attractiveness grows.
5.) Brace yourself for the accents.

Love the show, though, and I'm glad you gave it a try and enjoyed it! :)

I totally found Simon creepy in most of the first season, but I admit to not finding him half as creepy as a lot of people do/did. I find his smile adorable no matter what.

He's a little creepy but honestly, not as bad as I was expecting.

That's the nature of accents!

I did not find Simon as creepy as I expected too.
While Simon is certainly creepy in some aspects (most strongly when involving the probation worker), I mostly just spend practically every scene he's in wanting to hug that boy. It gives me warm fuzzies every time he bonds with the rest of the group, because he just wants to belong somewhere so badly.
The music is great! I get happy every time the intro song starts playing lol.

Me too! Sometimes I even care about Nathan, which, you know, says a lot.

Same here. I just wanna be his friend!

Yeah, Nathan is pretty much constantly a prick that I want to smack in the face - especially when he's a dick to Simon. He does have his moments though, where he manages to be serious or actually amusing. I'm still glad he and Kelly didn't hook up. She could do so much better.

Simon has been so tricky for me to navigate because obviously things happen that I knew should be really creepy/disturbing/etc to me and yet some combination of actor/writing made me always really root for Simon. There's so much going on behind his eyes, even when he's locked in an unsettling stare. I watched the behind the scenes features ripped from the S1 DVDs and the director called his eyes "magnetic" and I have to agree. :)
I've been watching S1 again already because, hello, I am obsessed (plus I need to cap) and there's so many lines where I'm like "OH, that's what Kelly said!" I always understand the gist but sometimes the actual words never reach me. XD

Exactly. Oh, Nathan, how can you suck so hard?

Word. I really like how in the first season you can just feel his discomfort and loneliness and his desire to be friends with these people, and in the season season, the love he has for Alisha is just so there and yet so leashed.

Same here. It's like, 'I think she said something insulting... I think she said something aggressive...'

I'd say Curtis and Alicia are pretty hot...but who is secondary, exactly?
