*clears throat*

So, I posted this weekend, and then accidentally put my post under private. It's now friends-locked here.

And after all that happened, I went to Cassis on Friday, which was fabulous - Cassis looks like every little Mediterranean town you see in the movies, and I spent the day lying on the beach reading.

It was beyond heavenly.

Sent.

Well, hopefully you'll kick yours quickly. I wound up getting a flu shot yesterday too, so now I'm feeling that (and not just the bruise in my left arm....)

I've been going back through some of the areas that I still need to fill out, and add scenes and such (like the last scene for chapter three....kinda started chapter four, but nothing is really flowing well. Curse you and your need for random ninja attacks! XD) But they just aren't flowing as well as that one did. It just came sailing out without having to think much about it.

What doesn't love a random ninja attack? Although with me it's usually ghosts.

You poor, poor thing.

Heh, yeah, but you see, I have all this other stuff that needs to get written (aside from the lovely smut) and all my muse wants to write right now is angst. Which, after the emailed scene, will be an angst-fest and a half, but all the same, that's pretty late in the fic. I have plenty to write between now and then and none of it wants to play nice.

As long as Tessa settles down, I should hopefully be getting some more sleep today. I'm glad I called in again, even if I really need to be working. But dammit, I don't want to infect the entire store if this is more than just a sinus infection...

So is it not playing nice because you don't want to write smut, or not playing nice because you don't know what you want to write?

(and if I suddenly vanish, it's cause I got kicked off the computer.)

Hell, even if it's 'just' a sinus infection, do you really want to be working? You need to lie down and rest.

I wouldn't WANT to be working, but I could be working, because I have shit to do this week.

And it's a little of both. Mostly because I don't quite know what to write at the moment without making huge time jumps, which I'm not really keen on at the moment, but if this keeps up, I justmight have to.

Yeah, time jumps... that's one reason I like writing one shots. With those, you don't have to worry about whether or not you're boring the readers, or if the skip ahead confused them, or whatever.

But I'm sure you'll do fine, whatever you decide to write.

Yeah...that's the trouble I'm having now... Justifying any real shot at plot...I mean, it's a secret affair...there really is only so much plot that can go into it... All the same, I'm trying and I think that's what's slowing me down. XD

I have a vague idea for the next chapter, it just doesn't want to cooperate.

What's wrong with rampant porn and details about near misses with them almost getting caught? I'd call that plot.

And please, tell me your vague ideas. I really want to hear them.

Actually, I did have an idea reappear this morning. It was actually the original beginning to EL like...8 months ago. XD But it didn't fit at the time. It actually will fit better now...

But it's that lovely cliche of Hakkai dreaming of trying to save Kanan, but instead of Kanan, he realizes after the fact that it's Yaone, so he goes on the "I don't want her to be hurt because of me" trip. Add a little angst and make the next sex scene a little more worth it, I think.

There's nothing necessarily wrong with rampant porn...I would just like there to be a little something more to it than just one big, long fuckfest. XD

Okay, pzb, I don't often say this but - don't write that. I have read is so many times and it always sucks. I had the 'oh, I realized I loved her in a dream.' I could see dreaming about her in the same situation as Kanan and failing to save her, or something like that, but I hate hate hate the she's Kanan - no, she's Yaone and the two characters are so interchangable that my subconcious can't tell them apart dream. I mean really, how often in a dream do you NOT KNOW who you're dreaming about? I mean, I can see some crazy dream logic where Yaone is Kanan or something, but I have the post-sleep exposition of emotion thing.

....sorry to be a downer.

However, I am all for adding a little angst to make the smut sweeter.

It has issues. Which is why I had cut it from the beginning. And I wasn't thinking of them being interchangeable, per se, but moreover he knows it should be Kanan and it isn't...

I don't know. I'm mulling it over. It hasn't been written yet, which means it's not something that I'm loving.

Then again, a lot of this hasn't been written, after 10 months. I think that says something. *sigh*

It says you have a life. A busy one. And I've sent you further thoughts on the dream sequence in an email.
