I know I've kind of vanished... that was because this weekend I started my new, full-time schedule. Which is actually pretty sweet (I'm working four ten-hour days, which is exactly what I was hoping would happen) but resulted in me being pretty zombified. I spent monday through thursday dragging my ass out of bed, going to work, coming home to prep for the next day of work, and then going to work again with a couple sporadic periods of manic energy (why yes, I did construct a cat tree at 1:34 a.m with instructions in german, why do you ask?).

This is how zombified I was: at one point I found myself on the Fox "news" website and the US weekly website, trying to figure out if Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner are dating (all signs point to no).

That is otherwise know as a "low point" in one's life. In my defense what was I supposed to think?

Long story short, I am behind on ALL THE TV and have about a billion comments to reply to.

The first week of a new schedule is always the hardest, but congrats on getting the hours you wanted!

I know what you mean about being behind on comments. We just got a dog and I love him dearly, but for the first week he's definitely been the center of the universe, and university classes started which consumed more. I'm slowing working in other parts of my routine so things are a little more normal again.

I have a list of shows/books somewhere that I keep meaning to watch/read and one of these days I will defeat it and there will be rejoicing. What's on the top of your list right now?

EDIT: oh yeah that reminds me I should probably write something soon...

Same here.

IDEK, which is honestly part of what's driving me a bit crazy. I have WAY more media to watch (and people asking me if I've watched/read xyz all the time) than I have hours in the day. I'm pretty sure top priority is this week's Parks and Rec.... What about you? What's top on your media-to-consume list?

Parks and Recreation is one I need to watch. I saw one episode and it looks like they did a good job of incorporating some of the things I loved about The Office without some of the things that sometimes annoyed me.

Well, to be perfectly honest the media at the top of my list right now is the next Johannes Cabal book. My copy is currently en route from the UK because of a snaffu with the US release date. 2+ weeks worth of wait is making it a little hard to focus on other reading. According to a poll on my flist, I should take up the time reading "Good Omens" and "Something Wicked This Way Comes". I'm also reading through Whedon's 4-volume run of Astonishing X:Men, which is very enjoyable.

TV for me is mostly consisting of cartoons intended for children, which while not the most grown-up thing ever definitely keeps me entertained. And Doctor Who...which just kind of has me waiting for Moffat to leave. When I have time for a more dramatic series, I want to marathon West Wing.

I adore doing a 4 10-hour day work week, and wish I could do it now. Congrats on getting it! The first time I did it, it took me a few weeks for my body to adjust. After that it was smooth sailing.

*cheers you on*

Yeah, I can tell it's going to take me a few weeks to get used to it... especially because work has called me twice on my days off, waking me up each time.... But once I get in the habit, it's going to be so sweet...

Oh, I remember those 10-hour work days (wasn't that long ago anyway). It's just work, home, bed, work, with some food every now and then. Hard days.

Pretty much.
