I am one of those people who likes to be surprised - my enjoyment of a plot twist et cetera is greatly enhanced by not knowing it's coming.

THAT SAID.

Regarding Sansa Stark:will someone please tell me if she did something epic in the latest book? Or it was hinted that she was going to lead Winterfell in Robb's place? I know that she was the vehicle to poison Joffrey and that she went into hiding but did GRR Martin let her live up to her potential?

Don't take me as a source of truthiness, since I don't read the books, but I heard the Sansa parts were cut out for the next book? Like, originally it was Westeros in one book and stuff with Dany, Sansa and a bunch of others in the next, but then he cut them out to put in the next next book, so...yeah.

Like I said, IDK what's really going on, so someone else might have more encouraging news.

If you're talking about A Dance with Dragons, Sansa isn't in it (it's true that her chapters were moved forward to The Winds of Winter). I thought her plot line in A Feast for Crows was excellent and is setting the stage for some truly marvelous stuff for her in the future in terms of her becoming a player in the game. QUEEN OF THE NORTH Y'ALL. QUEEN OF THE NORTH. ALL I WANT. Also Sansa/Littlefinger/Moon Door OT3.

ETA: let me know if you want more specifics because it's not clear to me from the post whether you've read AFFC or not.

Remember that she's 13-14 and a lot of people want to use her for political ends, so she doesn't really have her own agency yet. She won't do anything epic until she breaks free of their hold on her. I actually don't have high hopes for her. She's a weak personality, and she may play a critical role in something later on, but I doubt it will be through her own actions. She's definitely not a Daenerys or Arya, in the sense that she doesn't take her fate in her own two hands.

On a literal timeline its only been about a year since the war began, but because there's SO much story and SO many characters, it's taken a very long time to put all the pieces together. Book 4 and 5 are actually one book split in two, with 4 covering characters in Westeros, and 5 focusing on characters elsewhere. GRRM pulled a The Two Towers on us.

Just given my history with reading books that are plotted out in advance - i.e. a lifetime of just reading - I feel like Sansa's development is headed towards being queen of something. There are HEAVY HEAVY hints in her character development and the themes/metaphors in her parts of the story. I would be shocked if she didn't end up as Lady of Winterfell, Queen of the North, or Queen of the Seven Kingdoms. She's definitely living up to her potential so far, even if she hasn't taken a fully independent step yet. She's biding her time and learning how the game works. And it's so exciting. I can't wait to see what happens with her.
