I picked Code Name Verity up from the library last weekend, read the first six pages and went, 'this is going to be amazing but it's way too fucking intense for me right now.'
I started it again this morning and in pretty much one go read right up to where
Von Linden goes, 'The English flight officer has studied the craft of the novel. She is making use of suspense and foreshadowing.'
At which point I had to set the book to one side partially just because and partially because my bus stop was coming up.
Inside, my reaction was:

To be honest, I am curious to see if I actually do end up literally crying at this book.
(Sidenote: a friend and I were talking about books/comic that we don't want to see adapted - I do. not. want. to see Code Name Verity turned into a movie. There isn't a chance in hell they could do it justice.)
And finally, PLEASE DO NOT SPOIL ME IN THE COMMENTS. I'M ONLY AT PAGE 60 BUT I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT WHEN I FINISH I WILL BE PHYSICALLY UNABLE TO STOP MYSELF FROM WRITING A POST ABOUT IT.
