Because YJ and GL were aired in other countries, I was able to watch the episodes that had gotten pulled for no good reason.

OH MY FUCKING GOD M'GANN. IT HAPPENED. MY PRECIOUS BB REALIZED THE LINE SHE'S JUST CROSSED. OH PERFECTION. AND THAT LOOK CONNER GIVES HER - WHEN L'GANN AND GAR ARE TOTALLY OBLIVIOUS TO WHAT'S REALLY HAPPENING BUT CONNER - HE KNOWS.
(Sidenote: I am really glad that she mindwiped Aqualad instead of Artemis for various reasons.)
And more with Bart! And I am thrilled with what they're doing with Blue Beetle! It's all super-fabulous!

Lots of stylistic and storytelling things I liked here: the steampunk setting, the queen-and-knight relationship, mechanic girl, the way no one was 100% right or !00% wrong... but damn, do I miss Aya and Razer.

The YJ ep was very good and full of feels :)

I mean I know the show is kind of named after Hal and co and everything, but as I have explained previously, Razer and Aya have ALL the good emotional stuff that gives me feels. (Hal and Carol? Eh. Kilowog and his girlfriend? Is she still a Star Sapphire? Shows you how much I was paying attention. Possible destruction of the universe? Pshaw.)
Now all week I'm going to be stressing about not only whether they'll be back next episode, but whether we'll get to SEE the next episode. Arrggh CN bastards.

I was thinking, though... it's implied that Carol went kind of nutty coming from Earth to the SS's planet, and Hal temporarily lost his memory going in the other direction, because of the distances involved. But we're also told that Earth and Oa are in the same 'galactic neighborhood', and Razer doesn't seem to suffer any ill effects.

Okay confession time: I may have read this BEFORE I even watched the episode, so I had an inkling of what was going to happen, but nothing could have prepared me for how it ACTUALLY occurred. The look on her face was one of someone whose spirit had just been broken; she realized that she had gone too far. She had essentially "raped" (and not really, but you get what I mean) someone who she had thought was a traitor, and prior to that moment, he had done everything possible to paint himself as one in her eyes per his plan with Nightwing, Wally and Artemis. She invaded his mind, the mind that belonged to someone who she used to call comrade, roommate, friend; she did that, and found out that not only was her "sister" and friend Artemis actually alive, but that Kaldur wasn't actually a traitor. Then she realized that BECAUSE she didn't care and had no problem with doing something like that, that THAT was why Superboy broke up with her; because she had no compunction over doing something that heinous. And she UNDERSTOOD why he left. After Artemis left, M'Gann was too afraid to even do something as simple to her as breathing by going through the locked door, and it's because she was afraid that she'd lose control and do something that terrible all over again.
Gods, do I want fanfic now where she and Superboy talk about the mission and what happened to her and everything.

It's wonderful because that reaction has been repeated; remember her reaction after failsafe? She refused to use the majority of her powers then, for a bit, too, but she always goes back to using her powers but doesn't take the time to deal with the issues of control that she actually needs to deal with.

WORD. I love Kaldur but I want to see Artemis copes with being on the villain's side without Kaldur to help her.
That said though, if Kaldur doesn't come back from his M'gaan induced coma I'll be sad because he's one of the few characters of colour that actually has a recurring role on this series besides Artemis, Jade and Blue Beetle. And Jade doesn't get enough screen time!
You know how I had said that I was hoping Blue Beetle's arc would lead to somewhere?
THAT BOY'S ARC JUST LED TO SOMETHING. I HAVE SO MANY BLUE BEETLE FEELS.

Also, another part about this situation that makes me sad is WALLY AND ARTEMIS'S MUM. HE'S GOING TO SPILL THE WHOLE SECRET TO HER, I JUST KNOW IT, BECAUSE IF THAT SCENE KILLED ME, IMAGINE HOW WALLY FELT WHEN HE HAD TO LIVE THROUGH IT? HE HAD TO LIVE THROUGH IT RED!

Actually, I doubt it. Because Wally is smart enough to know that the best thing he can do to keep Artemis safe is to keep quiet and I think Wally would do ANYTHING to keep Artemis safe.

We're finally at the point in season two where I can see why the writers wanted to do that, but I'm still not thrilled about it.
So now I'm going to go look for Season 1 fics and ignore anything about season 2 because I'm just like that.
