–I really enjoyed Charming punching Whale. Also, do you get the feel that David watched A LOT of Westerns?

-Charming would be/is such a great dad.

-I feel like costume departments really do not know what to do with Sebastian Stan. Photo shoots - yes. Costume and makeup? Not so much. (Hint: dress him up like a rent boy.)

-It makes me snort with amusement to think that Rumpelstiltskin and the Mad Hatter both met and took advantage of Regina when she was young and naive and she later fucked them both over. Currently, I am SO glad that Regina fucked Jefferson, in particular, over so well. God, that scene at the end where all the dudes were sitting around congratulating themselves on how well they (THREE POWERFUL WHITE DICKHEADS) had manipulated Regina and broken her heart (ONE LONELY, TRAPPED YOUNG WOMAN) made me want to hurt them all so much. Can you imagine if Regina had possessed JUST ONE ALLY of Jefferson's or Rumpel's caliber? Someone actually on her side? Instead of her ineffectual father?

-Did anyone else notice that when Jefferson asked for a royal passport and Regina asked how she was supposed to manage that, Jefferson stared RIGHT DOWN HER SHIRT?

–I love how when Regina walked up to Rumpelstiltskin at the end, it wasn't just her hair and outfit that had changed - that was when she began to speak in her Evil Queen voice, which was the true sign of her leveling the fuck up to Evil: Level Fabulous.

–Stylistically, I loved that Victor's world was almost but not quite in black and white.

Questions: why did Regina marry the King? Why wasn't she able to get out of that if she was Rumpelstiltskin's apprentice before the marriage took place? When did Regina's father disappear? Basically, WHY DOES REGINA HAVE TO SUFFER SO MUCH? God, I just want her and Emma to be in the same world and then make out. I feel that Regina deserves that. Since she lost her boyfriend TWICE, cause fucking Whale screwed her back when she asked him to bring her bf back to life and then fucked it up when he tried again. Great job, dude, great job.

I really love Jefferson, but gosh did he annoy me in that episode! Even though I saw it coming, when they started to congratulate themselves over basically destroying Regina, UGH! When you think that she survived through a life of abuse and the death of her true love and still maintained basic human decency, and then the three white dudes came along and took her apart without a second thought, that makes me so angry! It kind of reminded me of something I read about the ASOIAF/Game of Thrones series, I don't recall exactly but it said that basically the women were awesome while the guys screwed everything up. Regina is the Big Bad Guy (or whatever the equivalent is for evil women) and everybody hates her, but everything she's done is the result of everything that's been done to her, and while Cora and Rumplestiltskin are acknowledged as evil, Jefferson and Whale are still mostly considered good guys. How is that fair?

Anyway. All I hope from the show is that Emma and Regina live happily ever after. Well, no. I mean, that's the dream, but TV-shows live to thwart me, so I'll settle for even just one scene, just one, where it's acknowledged that there's something there. They don't even need to kiss.
(But if the writers want to give us tons of makeouts and wearing each other's shirts and the redeeming power of true love, who am I to complain?)

Agreed! I just get so frustrated that they all teamed up against her and she had NO ONE useful on her side.

Anyway. All I hope from the show is that Emma and Regina live happily ever after.

God, that would be AMAZING.

If circumstances were different I feel like Snow would've been this for Regina. Now I feel like even Regina's animosity towards Snow was specifically created by Rumplestiltskin with the help of Cora. It also makes me curious what were the specifics of Cora's deal with Rumple.

I think that regardless of what Cora agreed to, Rumpel has been manipulating both Cora and Regina for YEARS.

Really loved Regina in this episode! I was afraid the episode would be stupid when the previews for it pointed to Whale being Frankenstein but I actually liked the way they handled it. I totally wanted to punch Whale/Jefferson/Rumpel in the face. I am definitely glad Regina screwed Jefferson over so thoroughly too.

IT IS NOT HARD TO MAKE HIM ATTRACTIVE. Ugh, his hair. So awful.

I loved her in this moment, though it was somewhat dampened by the ~reveal later. Ugh. Dickheads is right.

Using my Morgana icons in lieu of Regina icons. Both magical ~evil queens, what.

I know, right? Like, I see photo shoots where I am like, "DAMN, SON." And then his actual acting gigs? Fugly.

I keep seeing all this gifs of Morgana on tumblr looking damaged and fierce and all I want is for Merlin to be the show about how the assholes around her try to break her down but SHE RISES UP LIKE A FUCKING PHOENIX and the narrative supports her and she gets to make out with various attractive characters and ends up in the good boy/bad girl pairing of my heart.

Yes, I was definitely feeling the appropriateness of how it's their own fault Regina screwed them over. They're all gross. And I want to cry thinking maybe if they hadn't, maybe Whale had done it right the first time, she could have had Daniel back.

I always get such a kick out of your posts.

Although I think it helps that I agree with nearly everything you say.

I really like Charming, both his storyline and as a character, and I'm not entirely sure why. I've never been drawn to those alpha male, hero types, but there's something about the way he plays it that rocks those scenes.

I'm also really impressed with the effort they put into Regina's appearance and the actress's skill in differentiating between her younger, ingenuous self and the black magic baddie she would become. She really does seem like a different person and it's great to see the foundations for her future role as the evil queen.

I'm not sure why they keep insisting on bringing Jefferson back. He seems like a bit of a useless dandy to me. He has no power in Storybrooke and his story arc there has come to his natural conclusion, so his continual presence seems kind of redundant.

I wonder what the next Regina-centric episode will be like. I don't want to like her, but damn, she plays the villain so well.

Glad you like!

I agree. I have been SO impressed by the way that Regina will literally look ten years younger when she's supposed to look ten years younger.

Kind of. I like the actor but I wish they'd be more focused with when and how they use that character. Because I find the idea of a universe-jumper very interesting... but they're not using him effectively, imho.
