I know there is no way that I could offer holiday fics for people this year (on the plus side, though, my nano novel is on track which is a thing of amazement and joy) but I really love this variant from torigates:

SO. Request a day and a topic and I will talk about anything you want. Likely at length! Obviously topics I actually know about are preferable, but pretty much anything you want is fair game, and I will wax poetic about why it is great. It'll be fun! (Protip: my tags and my icons are always great ways to get ideas for fandoms that I'm familiar with.)

I think Johanna is smart enough NOT to want to be the Mockingjay - I think it would be more 'WHY THE FUCK DOES KATNISS GET A LIVING MENTOR AND *TWO* BOY-TOYS WHILE EVERYONE *I* LOVE IS DEAD, WHAT THE FUCK?"

Maybe, but if I remember right (and maybe I'm not because I only read it theonce and never will again) Johanna actually says in the book that she should've been/would've made a better Mockingjay. I think she thought katniss was just a waste because she didn't own the rebellion, didn't take down Snow (like she promised Johanna), etc. I could just see Johanna being all "Man, I would've SET THAT SHIT ON FIRE!!"

ETA: and I should say I think she's pretty fucked up and has a bit of a death wish. So I could see her wanting to do it to be all blaze of glory about it and go out with a bang? Especially after Finnick died.
