Razer's line about being a new man thanks to Aya was impossible for me not to read in the context of what's going on with Once, where Belle has spent most of this season trying to convince Rumpelstiltskin by begging and pleading and holding her love hostage to be a good person. And while I don't think it's actually true - Razer is a different person because he made the conscious choice to be a different person, I think it's very romantic that Razer sees his relationship with Aya as a factor in who he is now - and that is true. Aya has offerred Razer both the space to be a different person in his interactions with her AND called him on it when he is behaving in a negative way (I'm thinking of when the scene in the third episode where Razer is talking about how he deserves and wants to die and Aya tells him that what he wants is irrelevant and Aya telling him that going off alone back to red lantern space to charge his ring is stupid.) And I also want to stress that Razer has also made Aya a better person. He's her love interest not because "the writers say so" but because Razer is the person who has treated Aya as a person from the very beginning and she totally wants to tapp that.
So this episode. First of all, Razer had moves! Who saw that coming?
Secondly, I love how expressive Aya's face is! I loved all her hopeful/uncertain expressions with regards to Razer. And her epic 'bitch, please,' look at the Guardian lady when she went to go rescue her boyfriend.
Thirdly, WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK. It is totally not okay to kill off Aya. TOTALLY NOT OKAY. (Even if that scene was beautiful, which it was, with the light just touching Razer and Aya's faces before she shoved him away). I am just not okay with this on so many levels. And I am shaking my fists as the sky because I have really not down the show killing off their one, main female character in a heroic sacrifice for her love interest, even though I understand why the writers would want Razer to live with Aya dead (so much angst, on my god, so much angst).

But basically, right now, I need theories on how Aya is going to come back, because SHE HAS TO. I CANNOT ACCEPT A SHOW IN WHICH AYA DOESN'T RETURN AND MAKE OUT WITH RAZER'S FACE. (Also, seeing Aya fall apart - and how much of her body is explicitly just green lantern energy) is suddenly making porn a lot more workable. JUST WHEN SHE DIES. UGH. SO NOT OKAY.

I might be setting myself up for disappointment, but I don't see how they can NOT bring her back. Firstly, despite grown men and women being obsessed with it, it's ostensibly a kid's show, and okay they did kill some Green Lanterns in the pilot, but this is different. And I really don't think Volpe and crew are cruel enough to kill off the woman Razer loves, TWICE. I mean, if this was a cartoon written by Joss Whedon, sure, but... well I don't know any of Volpe and Liu's other work so I guess I should shut up.
Like I said, I'm still holding out for time travel. The Guardian bitch wouldn't have mentioned it otherwise, since afaik they haven't shown the Anti-Monitor actually using time travel before now.
I wasn't able to glean much from the promo for next week, it was so short, but did it look like they might be bringing the Blues back in? GIVE ME HOPE, SAINT WALKER.

I ABSOLUTELY NEED SOME HOPE RIGHT NOW.

I am clinging to that 'ostensibly a kid's show' thing SO HARD right now, you can't even know.

That... and I'm assuming that Volpe want to show his face in public some day *looks menacing*
I got my 5 year old cousin watching this show, although I don't think he's been watching since it came back from hiatus, and right now I'm hoping he hasn't because he's a sensitive kid. He was pretty sad about the Lantern who died at the end of the pilot, so this...
WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN?

I cheered when Aya disobeyed the guardian lady's orders because HOW HARD IS IT TO UNDERSTAND SHE'S A ROBOT WITH FEELINGS, GOD.

SO PERFECT!

For a super-advanced alien, she has some dumb idea about sentience!

Some of the guardians have dumb ideas about stuff in general. The only guardian I really like is that guy who joined the blue lantern core because he appears to be the only open minded one of the group!
