One day I will not ramble about Avatar. Today is not that day.

(All the reasons boil down to 'because I won't allow it' - I think Mike and Bryan could show me her bloody corpse and I'd go, 'we have necromancers in this world, right? Also, my mother never even considered the idea that Suki was dead, which I take as a good sign.)

But I had a point. It hit me recently, that Azula has all those Dai Lai under her sway - Dai Lai who are quite practiced at brainwashing. What if the reason Suki doesn't mention Sokka anymore is because she doesn't remember him?

You could have a totally awesome meeting where Sokka is like, "Suki! Thank god you're alright!" and Suki's like, "Back off. Who the hell do you think you are?"

Which leads to much angst and sorrow.

(And since I'm in the middle of writing 'what I think happened to Suki' we're sure to find out this Friday, before I have a chance to finish my fic. At this point, I don't know whether to hope I find out what happened to her this week, or hope I don't.)

Now, to segue to smut instead, before I actually watched Avatar, I floated the idea that this might be a show I could write girl-on-girl for, with all the great female characters running around.

So, I was reading this fic that had Toph in a lesbian relationship, which made SO much sense to me (and then I worried I believed that because she's nontraditionally feminine and if that said bad things about me and my social constructed paradigms about sexuality) and then I saw a really cute pic of Katara and Toph kissing and you know, that would be a very interesting relationship.

(This is a tangent: I was talking to mother about this, as we paired up the people in Avatar the way they should be - needless to say, Zuko is going to get a damn fine Fire Lady, and Toph is going to be queen and/or get Haru. Or a lesbian relationship. Anyway, the point is... *tries to remember point* Okay, I've got it. So, we're talking about Toph and lesbianism, and my mother mentions, that when she first say Toph she thought Toph was going to be "a rival for Katara."

Me: "I don't know if they'd do that. You know, have an actual lesbian relationship on a children's cartoon. But it would be pretty awesome if they did."

Mom: "I meant a rival for Katara regarding Aang."

Me: "Oh.")

However, what I actually want to talk about was Azula. Now, smilaraaq has written/mentioned that if anyone in Avatar wants to top, it would be Azula, which is just blatantly true. HOWEVER, I often find that having the obviously dominant character in a couple top can be... predictable, you know? So then I thought, who would be topping Azula? Well, it obviously wouldn't be Mei, because topping Azula would take effort and, you know, having a pulse, but Ty Li? Can't you just imagine her using her circus freak acrobatics and pressure points to have her way with Miss Thing?

Randomly: you know how on a molecular level glass is a liquid? I wonder if Katara could do fun things with glass, or if that would more be Toph's milieu because glass comes from sand.

1920s vibrators? Oh man, I need to come on a field trip to YOUR house. That is so... cool.

Speaking of, I got my present. I almost expired of the awesome, and it prompted a discussion between my mother and I regarding what Gojyo's hair would smell like.

You can find the damnedest things trawling through eBay's "Medical Antiques" category. I still need to figure out a good way of displaying them one of these years -- like these vintage examples (http://www.vibratormuseum.com/), none of 'em look obviously like sex toys (non-representational, non-insertable external use ONLY, natch) so they could be left out without being too blatantly shocking unless someone *asks*. The prize of my collection is an early-1930s electric, still in the remarkably well-preserved satin-lined leatherette box with niches for all of the original attachments, similar to these old White Cross models (http://www.goodvibes.com/Content.aspx?id=363&leftMenu=2&lr=y).

And yay, glad it arrived! I had a couple of packages going out to the Left Coast at the same time and have been waiting to hear if they made it out safely. Was the Hermessence swatch still damp enough to be sniffable? And what'd you think of my best beloved Perversion?

I can't remember if I made a note of it, but the earrings are all on niobium wires, and now you probably see why I was being so coy about jewelry colors and weights. If beads like that are about at the right sort of heaviness for what you have in mind, I've got a more vibrant blue choker pattern laid out that could be strung and finished in a jiffy. ;)

Oh, you HAVE to have those out so that unsuspecting guests can ask questions. *gigglesnort*

All the scents were sniffable. Perversion... I can really see where you get Gojyo off of it. I'm not an ordorafactorly inclinded person normally, so I need a few more sniffs before I get a really good read on what I think of them. (And that is yet another set of items that I left at home.)

I do at least have the infamous Hello Kitty vibrator (http://www.kittyhell.com/2007/05/08/hello-kitty-vibrator/) lurking innocently on one of the bookshelves... ;)

And I'm looking forward to your thoughts once you get your hands back on the sniffies!

So are the sort of beads I used for the earrings about the right sort of medium weight you were describing?

Oh that poor man. I wonder if he knew of his wife's obesession before he married her. And hee! At your Hello Kitty placement. That is hilarious.

re: beads. those would be fine for a necklace. Maybe a little bit heavier, but not much.

I'm not nearly that bad! From where I'm sitting here in my comfy little chair in the corner, I can only see, hmmm, sixteen Sanrio items, and they're not even all Kitty-chan! And that's less scary than it sounds, honest, since that's mostly lots of small things like the earrings you sent me, or CD wallets...and they're not even all Kitty, there's a bunch of Badtz-Maru and Landry and Pochacco mixed in with all the subtle blue-and-white Angel Kitty stuff.

Never mind that the number would be higher if the sock drawer and underwear drawer were open. That doesn't count because I said "visible"!

And those beads are just sort of the main base -- there are a few smaller ones and several larger ones mixed in as accents. Want a picture, or would you rather be surprised? :)

Oh, I'd rather be surprised, please. And hey, honor your Hello Kitty-ness. I think it's adorable. (As is that icon.) I wish my underwear had perky cartoon characters on it. Instead, it's just sherbert colored, and I think I was the one person in the world who requested underwear and socks for christmas - after Paris, none of my whites where white.

Heh, and it turns out I actually missed a couple of things...forgot about some bookends, and a bookmark that was sticking out of something on the reading pile, and the netsuke hanging off my wallet. But it really isn't as bad as it sounds, I swear... you'd notice the huge collection of stuffed huskies long before you spotted all the tiny subtle Sanrio bits and bobs! ;)

And if your stuff got all pastel-ish from stuff running in the wash, there are a bunch of decent laundry treatments that might perk them up -- Dylon, Rit, and Carbona all make specialty color run removers that work reasonably well, and even just plain ol' peroxide bleach like Oxyclean can go a long way towards cleaning up that sort of thing if the fabrics aren't too delicate. (Or you can go the "if you can't beat 'em..." route and just dye them all to more intense colors...)

Good point. However, I think a lot of my whites were really beyond saving, and there was just this viceral pleasure in just tossing them away...
