ACK, this is actually really hard to answer, because I can think of quite a few moments from your fics right off the top of my head that I feel are truly yours and that I truly love and really do think about out of nowhere from time to time ... There's two different masturbation fics of yours, one for Caroline and one for Alisha, that I remember with complete clarity. I also often think about your Tyler piece where he goes running and beats up a tree that made me want to cry. You write really, really incredible solo character pieces. BUT, overall, if I had to choose ONE thing, it would be this short Jessica/Tommy piece (http://redbrunja.livejournal.com/555970.html#cutid9):

People don't all taste the same. Jessica thinks the makers of True Blood might know that, but they don't get it. They try and fake it with their A Negative and O Positive and even before she'd ever had real blood in her mouth she knew True Blood was just a cheap imitation.

True Blood didn't taste like cheap perfume and vitriol, didn't struggle like motor oil and greasy meat and it certainly didn't press her mouth harder against his neck while she sucked down moonlight and rage.

"Fuck, you're hot," Tommy said, flipping her onto her back. Her mouth broke away from his skin and his blood splattered across her neck and breasts.

"Really?" Jessica asked, running her hands over his scars, hooking her index fingers in the loops of his worn jeans.

Ahhhhhhh the bit at the end where he's running in the woods and it's like there's spotlights behind the trees and with every step he hears the echo, one bite one bite one bite. I LOVE ITTTTTTT

Honestly, talking about this fic and the stuff I've written about Caroline and Tyler really makes me missing having a vampire tv show. There is just some REALLY fucking fun stuff you can do with those types of characters.

It was one of the first fics I read by you, and it was one of the fics I read that got me shipping Zutara even before I started watching A:tlA on tv. And it stayed with me because everything is just so broken. They're broken and the world's broken and they're trying to reclaim some measure of humanity. I also really love fire-and-ice themes.
