It’s so fucking weird when one of tumblr’s sponsored posts shows up on my dashboard, because it’s ALWAYS a big photo of Johnny Depp as Tonto and I keeping looking for the #outraged hashtags #about what an egregious example of white-washing that casting choice is #and how arrogant Johnny Depp was about that #and how terrible that movie looks in the trailer #and how they’re cribbing gags from POTC 1 #that POTC 2 and 3 #already cribbed

Ugh. They showed an extended scene for that movie at the end of Man of Steel, so I picked the moment the clip started to strut out of there with my head held high.

And what gets me is that Johnny Depp KNOWS that white people playing people of colour in movies is racist, but he did it anyway. 'Joining' the tribe being 'represented' in this movie doesn't change the fact that Johnny Depp is a white guy stealing roles that should have rightly gone to a Native American.
