Since every single reviewer on A03 asked for a sequel to This Is An Art Of Living With A Ticking Heart, and you know, it does kind of beg for 'what happens next' I'm kind of considering it.

The problem: I have no idea what a sequel would look like.

I know what happens RIGHT after the fic ends, which is:

Diggle goes over to Oliver, and is like: I told you not to do the thing. Why did you do the thing?

Oliver: Nothing happened.

Diggle: That's how you're gonna play this?

Oliver: That's how it is.

After that?




I seriously don't know what to do.

Because when the fic ends, Oliver thinks that Felicity wasn't that into the almost-sex as he was, I don't see him as the type of person to SAY SOMETHING and I don't think that Felicity would believe him if he did.

So.... I guess I'm asking, as readers, want would you have to see in a sequel?

I just read it, and I am not ....like in the fandom with the characters.

But since she acted so aware of being told to shut up, I'd be interested in seeing just how they progressed since she may think that level of intimacy is unusual without an ulterior motive? (and that is just a guess)

I think one important question would be - what prompt Oliver to do it in the first place? Where was his head at? Had this been building for awhile, and he just decided "go for it?" Was her talking turning him on enough that he just gave in? (Which would play into the idea of her assuming it was to shut her up because her talking wasn't wanted as opposed to the truth which could've been that her talking is one of the integral things that attracts him to her.)

So, Felicity has an inherent belief that Oliver would never actually want her just to want her - I'm betting until she said that, it never would've occurred to him that she would think that. And given the conversation you have between him and Diggle above, he's probably feeling a combination of embarassed, annoyed (by how he handled the situation), and frustrated, because things aren't like he thought they were and now he's got to rethink everything.

I'd like to see what's going on in Oliver's head, and what's going on in Felicity's head, and also what (if anything) Diggle decides to do based on what he thinks has happened thus far? Ideally it would end with lots of hot sex between Oliver and Felicity (of course) but more UST (because now they're both hyper-aware of it, aren't they?) and maybe even some arguing would be awesome too. :)

After a while I would think Felicity would need to talk to him and ask him what the hell was going on. She's pretty smart and the need to know would be a key driver, along with making sure that the working relationship wasn't damaged, at which point things with Oliver could progress... with the right questions and answers...

And from there some smut would be great. ;-)

She isn't the type to back down with him, so getting in his space, finger pointing (poking his well sculpted chest - sans clothes) as she argues with him would be a great way to go.
