Today is going to be a day in which it would be really awesome to have fun fannish things to think about.

Fandom Tennis Match Meme:

Okay, here's how this is going to work. You comment with a fandom question. I answer it and then ask you a question that has some thematic relevance to the question you asked me.

My experiences with roadtrip fic have been positive! The title of the two roadtrip fics I've read escape me now, but I do remember them being funny/humorous. However, fic no.1 probably wouldn't have worked so well if it wasn't set in an alternative universe, so the author made a good call there.

I think roadtrip fics can work for almost any fandom depending on:

1. Whether the author can justify said roadtrip, especially if the characters aren't in a setting where travelling is easy.

2. The universe the characters are in. Unless you're writing an AU, you'd have to do a lot to justify a 'fun' roadtrip for characters in a dangerous/apocalyptic world, unless that roadtrip had a specific goal/mission that the characters couldn't accomplish from the comfort of home.

Yeah, there are certain worlds that work much better for roadtrips than others.
