But at the same time, I really want details. Tell me more, tell me more, did they think Jason Todd would ever sexually abuse someone? Did they think Steve Rogers would be a Republican?
I've read one or two Clint/Natasha baby fics where I could kinda buy it, and a handful of fics that I enjoyed if I pretended the characters were not Clint and Natasha, but generally they're pretty terrible.
Also the 'Skye/Ward are totally a younger Clint/Natasha!' stuff. Uh, only if you know nothing about Clint or Natasha's personalities. :/

I read this, made a sound of horror, my mom asked me what was wrong from the other room, I told her, and she made a face like she'd been sucking on lemons.
You can make a case for similarities between Clint and Ward, I feel, but Natasha and Skye? FUCK NO. They're pretty much opposite in every way that matters. (And it doesn't help that, imho, Skye is a fucking terribly designed and quite inconsistent character.)
Natasha and Skye have nothing in common. You could make a case for Natasha and Melinda, maybe, but in general I think 'Character X is just like Character Y!' tends to sell both characters short. Two characters shouldn't be exactly the same, that's bad writing.
I stopped watching AoS after episode 3, but it seems like the writers aren't quite sure what to do with Skye? Everyone else serves a function on the team, and Skye is sort of... there. If I find myself disliking a female character I try to examine why I dislike her, to see if my dislike is legitimate or if there's internalised misogyny going on. Usually I come out neutral towards the character or even liking her, but with Skye... she's not as dull a character as Ward, but she's pretty poorly written.
Skye is very poorly written. She's supposed to be this anarchist hacker with lost her family young, but she reads like a wishy-washy naive little girl.
please take your heteronormative gender roles and internalized misogyny and shove it up your ass, thanks <- I literally used these exact same words not more than a week ago in the middle of dinner conversation. ... >.< But, also: YESpleaseTHANKS!
ANY BAD, DUMB THOUGHTS ABOUT AMERICA CHAVEZ'S SEXUALITY like that girl who said "well i just think it's better not to know so it doesn't interfere with the character."
Oh, fuck you. That is some bullshit right there.
any time someone writes steph as a bad robin or tim as weak based on the premise that "he is small and therefore ~feminine~ and feminine is ~lesser~" i just, hello here are my eyes, they have rolled out of my head, please take your heteronormative gender roles and internalized misogyny and shove it up your ass, thanks.

Oh, man, Natasha/Clint pregnancy/baby fics are some of the most appalling things ever.
