I... don't know how I feel about that.
How do you feel about creators increased awareness of fandom and increased interaction with fans? In general and in the specific.
To put it another way, it's more like a bonus post-series short story than outright fic. I mean, it's more canon-y than stuff like the Middleman creator's Star Trek crossover fic.
But the guy is pretty welcoming of fandom; he'll post fanart on his blog with the occasional comment to the effect of "Just FYI Dr. Barlow has a husband back home" before a piece of Varlow fanart.
And I gotta say any views I had on the matter have drastically shifted since discovering Orlando Jones' tumblr. When an actor reblogs fanart of their character, does their own photoshops on a regular basis, directly requests slashfic involving their character, and uses their twitter to rec OT3 fic, it just snaps something in your brain.
The comic I was/am most excited about is Black Widow’s solo. Issue 1 was pretty much perfect, and I’m hoping that keeps up. What are you excited about in upcoming releases?
