I LOVED the Black Jewels trilogy when I first read it. However, I had enough problems with the world build (ESPECIALLY in context with her other works) that Black Jewels trilogy is a big nope for me.

But! Totally different topic! I am almost done with Cress and oh my word, that series is kind of breaking my heart. I adore Prince Kai, Cinder is great. I know you weren't thrilled with the Scarlett/Wolf romance, but I LOVED it. Especially in the third book, when Scarlett is [spoiler] and Wolf says she's his Alpha and Cress has a different (but perfectly fitting) idea of what that means.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, CRESS, MY HEART.

I think it is my favourite so far, even though the dude I totally fall for is barely in it. BECAUSE THAT'S JUST HOW I ROLL.

ANYWAY.

Also, Cress and Cinder are so AWESOME and Scarlett just SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME with her scenes, and HELLO BOOK #4, I AM SUPER EXCITED FOR YOU NOW.

These books are so good. And they should...not be? I mean, when you describe them, they sound so silly. AND THEN. ETC.

Scarlett's scene were just BRUTAL.

I don't know about that, because as soon as I heard 'sci-fi fairytale retelling,' I was down for these books. But I CERTAINLY wasn't expecting the fabulously cohesive and linked... I don't know if that's the right word, but I was not expecting four books = one epic story.
