It's A Glorious Day For My OTPs [Zutara & Kakasaku Recs]

We're Caught Between Thank You' & 'Good Bye' (Katara/Zuko)

This is exactly what happens after the finale. Katara and Zuko are both such adults in this, so very mature, and the author doesn't shy away from letting prior relationships run their course or slowly letting the one between Katara and Zuko build. This fic has a palpable sense of time and quietude - I almost feel like it's being whispered in my ear.

Green-Eyed Monster (Kakashi/Sakura)

'“Hey Kakashi, you know Sakura, right?”

Hatake Kakashi was personally of the opinion that when one asked a stupid question, one probably deserved the stupid answer they received.

He closed his book over his pointer finger to save his place and tapped the spine against his chin. “Sakura, Sakura,” he mused, as if in deep contemplation. “About this tall,” he indicated his shoulder, “pink hair, green eyes, could punch a hole through a boulder?” He grinned a mischievous grin, though the only part of it that showed was his one natural eye closing in an amused curve. “Nope, never heard of her.”'

I was recently lamenting the lack of fluff for Kakashi/Sakura recently, and lo and behold, when I bitch, the universe listens. I can't remember the last time I ran across an awkward!Kakashi, but this one is perfect, still cool and composed yet with this slightly off-balance edge that made me chortle. Him imagining Sakura on a date with someone who is not him was simultaneously hysterical and hot was spot on, as was the line about feeling too-tall.

This was definitely my favorite fic to come out of the Kakashi/Sakura holiday exchange.
