Dirty Little Secret

I keep randomly coming across Itachi/Sakura non-massacre AUs and I keep reading each and every one of them and I just today realized why:

The thought of Sasuke's reaction to finding out his elder brother is doing his teammate is priceless.

(Even if it doesn't happen in the fic, it happens in my head, and it's wonderful.)

Legal Question

Okay, I know I have some law student and lawyers on my flist, so I'm wondering if you can help me. (Google-fu failed.)

If a couple is married and one person wants a divorce, what happens if the other party refuses to sign the papers? What is their legal recourse? Is there a way for one person to legalize the divorce against the wishes of the other?

(For argument's sake, let's say this takes place in Washington State.)
