I have had such bad luck trying to buy things recently (e.g. I received an email telling me that the sheets I'd ordered had been delivered when IN REALITY they are in a random post office NOT EVEN IN MY CITY) that I was telling my mom that I need to ritually sacrifice something to appease the angry gods... but which gods? Since most of my trouble was from things that I ordered online, my mom went internet>web>electricity and told me to pray to Thor and Spider woman.
Me: ...remind me to tell you about Jessica Drew.
Would writing Carol/Jess appease whatever techno-sprite I've apparently offended?
Maybe?
Regarding Jess/Carol and fucked up spies and assassins and the marvel verse, while I think it's in character for a lot of characters to avoid and distrust mental health professionals, it does get really frustrating because I think culturally and within fandom there is this presentation of people who at one time or another need counseling as weak or therapy as ineffective, which is flat-out-factually untrue.
Which is my round-about way of saying that I think that Jess is a character who would both benefit and be willing to have counseling and also, a lot of my fondness for
this Bucky/Steve/Natasha story comes from its mostly positive take on therapy.
