I had my last two classes yesterday and I really think that I'm going to love this quarter; all my teachers seem interesting and sane and my schedule is really nice.

I watched the finale of Soul Eater, and while I think I'm going to get punched for this opinion, I found it underwhelming:

Nagato's hair is apparently red. To which I say hell no. Way to fail at arts, Kishimoto.

TV Couples We Love. While some of these make total sense, here's what bothers me: Not even one homosexual relationship. Not. Even. One. What the fuck, e-online? Are there seriously no gays on tv right now? Did the L Word get canceled? I mean, fuck, you can find an example of a polygamous relationship but you can't find one lesbian or gay relationship? Epic fail is epic.

This was totally empowering to read. First of all, it's a author taking a good hard look and not just her work, but the work of her favorite authors on race. Her conclusion is my conclusion: write characters of race, do your best, fail, learn from your mistakes, and then fail better the next time.
That said, I want more context for this. Because if I wrote a book and it ended up hella racist but someone just came up to me and told me it was terribly racist and demanded I re-write it, I'd probably never write about Indians ever again either.
