Okay, it's official – my mother and my trip to Europe has been post-posted until next Spring. I'm actually totally okay with this - I think it will wind up being for the best, and I certainly don't want to travel in Europe when all the modes of transportation are overstressed.

So despite now seeing the newest episode of Doctor Who in London, like mom and I joked, we watched it at home.

Honestly, I found it ExpandRead more... )

There is a really good piece of Azula meta here. While I don't agree with everything the author says (especially by implication regarding Katara in the comments), she has some well-thought out points. I especially like her take on the gender-dynamics of Azula's childhood.

I really enjoy reading Bust Magazine, which is all about feminism and pop culture. They also have an agony aunt column towards the end, and one of the pieces of advice drive me up the freaking wall.

The situation: the woman writing in had always had a very adventurous sex life with her husband but lately that had been on a down hill slope, and since they're started by experimenting with BDSM and sex toys, she didn't know how to spice up her marriage.

The advice columnist responded with, in a nutshell: have you tried polyamory?

–I am apparently on a text-only icon kick. We'll see how long that lasts. Usually I find text only icons too specific for broad usage. But I found so many awesome ones today.

–My mom is finally reading The Hunger Games and Catching Fire. I keep wandering into the living room and asking what's going on at this moment in the books. At the rate she's going, she'll have finished both of them inside of three days. She ships Katniss/Peeta. I'm pleased with her great taste in shipping (unfathomable okay-ness with Rachel/Finn aside).

–In the moood for a funny, scorching, and in-character Amy/Eleven r-rated fic, y/y?

–I want to talk about fandom-y things. Anything fandomy you, flist, would like to talk about?
