Has anyone ever, actually seriously argued that a dog was good security?

And since the answer is clearly "no" can we please delete that trope from the fanfic lexicon for all eternity?

Apparently tumblr can't understand a tag with a hypen? So all my honey-love (aka my femmeslash tag aka my Carol/Jess tag) IS ENTIRELY MEANINGLESS. 

Another reason that I am going to be happy when I will have survived another Valentine's Day is that those stupid [quirkly v-day saying, to: from: + picture of hot person] will stop infecting my dashboard.

A question for the floor: I want to hear about your fannish final straws.

For example, the Bucky Barnes name-drop was what prompted me to unfollow a couple SHIELD-heavy blogs and blacklist the more specific versions of the show name**.

If you can remember, please tell me about the specific things that made you quit and/or start to blacklist a show.

**Or at least, I tried. Until I realized that pretty much every variant of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D that people actually use tumblr-saviored a bunch of posts I wanted to see,especially now that Sif is going to be in an episode, which, needless to say, I am actually kind of bummed about.

[-] I had big plans for this evening that involved posting some ficlets so that my end-of-year masterlist is coherent (which I might still do, because fuck it). The snag in that plan was that it took me the entire evening to figure out that the internet wasn't working because the router needed to reboot, not because I had a zillion tabs in Chrome open.

[-] It turns out that gmail randomly decided that half of my notifications from LJ were spam. Thanks a bunch, gmail.

[-] Work is moving offices in the most haphazard, delayed, rushed way possible. I’m reminding myself that none of this is my craziness and they really should have listened to me six months ago when I told them not to a sign the lease they ended up signing. Totally a case of being penny wise and pound foolish.

[-] I need to stop checking my bank account or going through my stack of mail at the end of the evening because it is NEVER a good decision. Even if it not bad news (this evening it was a mix of good and bad news) it is always stressful.

[-] I am planning on painting my toes tomorrow. Color suggestions welcome.

On that subject, radio has been giving me NO LOVE and I have been having trouble finding new music.

Anyone have any recommendations? (And by new, I mean, new to me. Feel free to recommend songs released years and years ago.)

I really wish that people, without making a HUGE THING about it, would just use ‘well-written’ or ‘badly-written’ female characters instead of strong or weak, because some of the most interesting female characters I could mention have huge weaknesses of character, which makes them interesting, drives the story, and works against this idea that female characters have to be above reproach at all times.

I'm thinking specifically of Briony in Atonement, who drives the plot, creates the narrative, is spoiled and jealous and longs to be stronger than she is and fails and attempts to rewrite her own and her sister's history.

Because calling Briony "strong' feels ridiculous, but goddamn is she a believable, relatable, narratively-vital and fascinatingly flawed character. Period. Full stop.

I just found out a huge spoiler for Teen Wolf that I fucking wish I did not know.

Derek apparently knocked up Ms. Blake when they were having healing sex in the last episode.
