Okay, Just To Clear Something Up...
Rin? Is not weak. She's reserved.
She was the Hinata of Kakashi's generation and the fact that she gets kidnapped? Is because Kishimoto constantly undermines and demeans his women, not because of anything Rin did or didn't do.
(Also, even so, she apparently withstood enemies trying to mentally rape her for information for however long it took Kakashi to screw his head on straight and come get her.)
And oh my god do the superficial comparisons between she and Sakura get old, and yes, Rin isn't quite as awesome as Sakura, but really, who in Naruto is?
