Well, That Bites

Just got massively spoiled for TTGL (twice, in case once wasn't enough).

What I found out caused the small desire I had to finish the series vanish.

If you haven't finished that series, don't got to today's fandom secret post.

(His dad was Alex Louis Armstrong and his uncle was Maito Gai, and nobody can tell me different.)

That is the perfect way to phrase it.

Granted, it eventually stops making any sense whatsoever, but in an awesome sort of surf-the-wave-of-glorious-wtfery way.

See, TTGL, for me, has always been a 'hmmm, this is okay... not something I'd seek out of my own...' and hearing that it stops making any sense later... is not a good sign for my continued interest.

No, see, that's what I thought too. There's just something...effervescently fun about the way they do it, though. It happens during the epic final battle, and since the series has always toyed with its own limits before, it ends up feeling like when you were seven years old and having a really good time playing space warriors with your friends, and just kept throwing in everything up to the kitchen sink that seemed awesome that you could think up on the spot. YOUR SPACESHIP IS SINKING! HAHA, OKAY BUT I CAN MAKE YOUR GUYS ASPLODE! OH YEAH WELL I'M GONNA THROW A GALAXY AT YOU! HEEHEE AWESOME!

Ordinarily I prefer tidy, logical worlds, but this was free-flying Jabberwocky brilliance. In space. ^_^ And I really did get a kick out of it...I don't know for sure if you will, but don't write it off too soon.

It has another six episodes. That's about how many weeks of the quarter are left, and after that, i won't be going to anime club anymore.

*nods* That's fair enough. If you get to episode nine or so of a series and it hasn't lit your fire yet, that's really enough time wasted, eh what? ^_^

Honestly, if I hadn't had about a billion people who would have lynched me + easy way to watch it, I would have dropped it already.

Hee. ^_^ I didn't want to get any more specific and spoil her even more...but yeah, by the time those last few episodes rolled out, I had thrown logic joyfully to the winds and was laughing and whooping like I was at a football game. Good times, good times.

Seconded that is the best description ever.

I seriously think that is impossible to explain the level of excellence that the end of the series is. It doesn't make sense in a way that makes perfect sense. If that makes...sense...
