That said, it is fanon in my head Anko, Kurenai and Kakashi have been friends for ages and at some point, Kurenai and Kakashi has 'I like you and I'm horny' sex that didn't even make a ripple in their friendship.

I have read and loved Kakashi/Kushina, and I think it fits in with Kakashi's history of tragedy.

I have read Rin/Kakashi, and anything that is not one sided in a she loves him/ he cares for her strikes me as slightly wrong.

Obito/Kakashi: I have no idea how people think this would work. First of all, they were twelve. Second of all, there was only a period of about two hours where they didn't have each other utterly and Kakashi as a kid was WAY to straightlaced to a.) have sex b.) have gay sex c.) have gay sex with someone he found worthless. Keep dreaming, fangirls.

Iruka/Kakashi. A world of no. This is one of those pairings where they're complete opposites and there's complete opposites in the way that means that they totally don't respect each other, and neither of them is the kind of person to have angry, I don't like you very much sex. Plus Kakashi is really straight in my head.

Kakashi/Gai - while I understand where people are coming from, no.

Kakashi/Sasuke - dear god no. Sasuke betrayed his teammates and his friends. The only way Kakashi would get into a bed with that boy would be to drive a chidori through his ass and let him bleed out slow.

Kakashi/Naruto - this hurts my brain in a way that Iruka/Naruto doesn't.

Kakashi/Anko - while hot, I almost think that these two are too alike to ever have sex with each other. I kinda think they repress in the same way, and it just wouldn't do anything for either of them. The sex would be be proffessional yet devoid of passion.

Especially Iruka/Kakashi. *shudders* I'm sorry, but Iruka thinks Kakashi is a horrible teacher, and for him tha's like THE gravest of insults. Kakashi, while generally indifferent to Iruka's insults, has had no qualms about putting the chuunin in his place. "They're not your students anymore. They're MINE." he doesn't disrespect Iruka... but he's obviously not gonna invite him out for a round of drinks and sex either.

Kakashi/Anko I've seen done and done well, but not as a pairing. It's always been a:
"Hey... the closet's empty now. Wanna go?"
"Eh, sure. No scratching this time."
"When did YOU become such a bitch?"

Not just, 'they're mine,' but "they're my SOLDIERS.' It puts a whole different dynamic on it. But basically, TOTALLY WORD on both this and Anko/Kakashi - those two could have sex but they could never make love.

Yes, and it's glorious. Although I tend to imagine Sakura finding out in the tentitive stages of her and Kakashi's relationship, when she hasn't quite admitted she's into him, and is like, discreetly trying to punk Kunenai for information, and then later is like, 'I'm even crazier than I thought I was to think about Kakashi like that since he CLEARLY goes for mature women with actual breasts.'

And the way we know this is because Asuma met up with is team for training and didn't know that Kurenai's bra had gotten caught in the waist band of his pants. Meanwhile, Kurenai's looking around his place going, "Son of a... where the HELL is my bra?!"

Naturally, Ino would tell Sakura later that it was TOTALLY a water bra. And that Asuma actually tried to claim it was his, which led to a severely awkward moment between him, Shikamaru and Chouji.

I think the entire thought-process for shipping KakaIru is as follows: Bishie + Bishie = hot. THAT'S ALL IT IS! >.<

Your logic is falling on deaf ears when it comes to the yaoi fangirls, unfortunately. ;)

I will never forget attempting to search for Naruto doujinshi on Yahoo! Japan and coming up with about 250 pages of results that were literally nothing but Kakashi/Iruka, with an occasional Naruto/Sasuke thrown in. I AM NEITHER JOKING NOR EXAGGERATING. Thousands upon thousands of doujinshi and they were all KakaIru. I may have wept, I don't know.

At this point, the KakaIru fandom is practically its own industry in Japan, with only the loosest of ties to the actual Naruto manga. Want to know why Iruka keeps placing so high in the "popularity" polls that occasionally turn up in the manga, despite not being in it for years? KakaIru fangirls voting him in. It really is just a case of having Kakashi and Iruka being the only two males of similar age and proximity in the manga and the fangirls taking that and running with it, but damn, did they ever go overboard with it...

In those two cases, I think it's a lot of team-shippers than anything else; they're on the same team so they MUST harbor hidden feelings for each other. (even though Kakashi would probably kill Sasuke in a hot minute if the boy raised a REAL threat and would probably kill himself if Naruto's name even crossed his mind while beating off.)

I just don't even get it. I should, because I ship Kakashi/Sakura, except for me it's not because of the teacher/student thing, it's because I think their personalities would work well together. But Sakura's smart enough to call Kakashi on his BS, and Naruto just isn't. I can imagine how certain relationships would go even if I don't ship them, but Kakashi/Naruto simply does not compute.
