fairest1, I got your package! Thank you so much!
Also, a reminder to all, February 1 marks the opening of
halfamoon , which already has some great fic and vids posted:

Go celebrate the hot badass chicks.
I want to pimp out this grea Anya fic, which I didn't totally understand but which was incredibly awesome:
Chiaroscuro (Anya)
'The sunlight was reflected and redoubled in his eyes. He stared her down. With a slight smirk on his lips, he said, "A thing of beauty is a joy forever. Stay alive, Anyanka. Until next time."
He walked away whistling. The tune stayed stuck in her head for the better part of the next year. '
What is most impressive is not only the sense of time and history with the fic, but the author's fantastic precision of language.
Also, two Naruto recs:
Control
This is heartbreakingly plausible and a perfect example of Sakura and Naruto not being able to win for losing. And I don't really have an example to show how well written this is, because the whole fic is a series of little examples that build up to something heart-rendingly tragic.

Geez, I never cry at anything, let alone fanfic. I just... SOOOOO SAAAAAD. :(((( Though it took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out that the cat wasn't just a metaphor.

I MEAN, FORGET ANYTHING TO DO WITH SASUKE, SAKURA MADE HERSELF BARREN AND INO MARRIED SOMEONE SHE DIDN'T LOVE AND WAIL, WAIL WAIL!
When you think about it, Sasuke as a cat is a shockingly lol-worthy images, especially in a fic that's not funny at all.

It was really sad. /tearsing
Poor Hinata didn't get her Naruto.
It was amazing, though.
*lacks a userpic that properly displays sadness*
