1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me!"

2. I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions.

3. You will post the answers to the questions (and the questions themselves) on your blog or journal.

4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.

5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions. And thus the endless cycle of the meme goes on and on and on and on ... .

From [livejournal.com profile] chomiji I was asked....

1. What was your favorite book when you were 10, and why do you think it appealed to you?

The Lioness Quartet by Tamora Pierce. A badass girl with a temper saying 'SCREW GENDER ROLES' and going off to train to be a knight? I am SO there.

2. What would be your ideal job?

I honestly don't know. I want something the will leave me time for writing, but I think I'd go crazy if I was writing full-time, so... *shrugs* Right now I'm more thinking, 'what will pay the bills when I get out of college?' and 'what's the best way to start getting things published?'

3. Of the fic you have written, which (up to 3) are your favorites?

Laws of Reciprocity (Hakkai x Yaone)

Nicely Please (Kakashi/Sakura)

It's Never Just A Game (Zuko, gen)

4. If you could talk to a fictitious character, who would it be, and what would be your first question to that person?

Ouch. This is a tough one. I'd probably pick Gojyo, because then I could go, 'hey, wanna get a drink?' and he'd take it from there, and I would have an evening I'd never forget.

5. What's your favorite wild animal? Discuss, if you wish.

Tiger. I'm a cat person, and (this is going to sound horribly New Age-y) tigers are my totem animal. They reoccur in dreams and pop up in my life.

3.) Do you think Fakir realizes that he's in love with Ahiru?

4.) What's your current favorite song or one you're listening to a lot?

5.) What's your favorite episode of Princess Tutu?
Monday, March 2nd, 2009 05:38 pm (UTC)
Awesome! Netflix sent disc one of Baccano! today, so I'll answer these once I've finished it and gotten to episode 4.
Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009 07:47 am (UTC)
Cool! Let me know what you think.
Thursday, February 26th, 2009 12:26 am (UTC)
Interview me?
Saturday, February 28th, 2009 05:59 am (UTC)
1.) Least favorite food?

2.) Favorite icon.

3.) If you have a job, what is it, and do you like it?

4.) Who is your favorite Naruto character?

5.) Favorite manga of all time.
Thursday, February 26th, 2009 12:43 am (UTC)
Oh man, Alanna was such a badass.

Interview me.
Saturday, February 28th, 2009 06:08 am (UTC)
1.) Who is the girl in your default icon?

2.) When did you start shipping Sakura/Sasuke?

3.) Where does "you're the only angel i ever gave away" phrase come from?

4.) Favorite Avatar pairing.

5.) Favorite Tortall book.
Saturday, February 28th, 2009 08:47 am (UTC)
1. Barbara Gordon, the first Batgirl, Commissioner Gordon's daughter, librarian, and all around badass. She's stubborn and intelligent, and one of the few members of the Batfamily who joined just because of a genuine desire for justice, not due to "MY PARENTS ARE DEAD!" brooding and misanthropy. As a red-haired, bespectacled Batman fan who works in a library, she's like. My patron saint.

She seemed to have been fridged when she got shot in the spine by the Joker and was confined to a wheelchair, but she ended up becoming Oracle, one of the main information sources of the DC universe and awesome hacker. She started her own badass all-female superhero team, and actually became more important since the accident. Still bugs the hell out of me though.

2. Around '04, when I first started reading the series. Haven't wavered since! It started because I immediately fell in love with the two of them, and thought Sakura's crushing was pretty much the cutest thing ever. It loved it even more after the Forest of Death, when she actually started to get him. I like that she's been able to develop beyond a little girl who just saw someone cute to someone who honestly wants to understand him, and that her love (and loss) has made her stronger, as opposed to weaker. Also, Sasuke needs a good punch in the face, and I think she's one of the only people who could help him. She's always been there for him, and in his own way, he's shown that he respects her and appreciates that.

Sure, it's tragic and dysfunctional, but that just makes it more interesting. I still keep hoping the two of them'll have a happy ending. ♥

3. "Hospital Bed Crawl", by The Hush Sound. It's not the best song on their new album, but I do love the lyrics, as stalker-tastic as they are.

4. Zutara, hands down. I love the tension between them, and that she could, and would, kick his ass without hesitation. Out of all the characters in the series, they really had a struggle to understand eachother despite their simularities, but they were able to pull through it in the end. I just like seeing two tough, stubborn people butt heads. I feel like no matter what they do with eachother, they could always keep it interesting and passionate.

Plus, I adore the concept of couples from opposite nations, especially ones with a history of friction like theirs.

5. Wild Magic, since it was the first one I ever read. Also, I was one of those girls who was ridiculously in love with ponies.

I think as characters, I might've preferred Alanna, but I liked all of her heroines too much to want to pick one. I was one of those girls who thought princesses were pretty cool, but girls who fought monsters with swords were considerably more interesting, so I was happy to have discovered her books.

Everything I've heard about Barbara Gordan has been good.

re, it's tragic and dysfunctional, but that just makes it more interesting.

God knows, I'm the VERY last person to say that someone shouldn't ship something 'cause it's dysfunctional. ^_^

"Hospital Bed Crawl", by The Hush Sound. It's not the best song on their new album, but I do love the lyrics, as stalker-tastic as they are.

I've have to check that out. I've recently found the Hush Sound, and so far, I really, really like them.

Wild Magic was a good book. It's probably my favorite in that series.

I was one of those girls who thought princesses were pretty cool, but girls who fought monsters with swords were considerably more interesting, so I was happy to have discovered her books.

Same. So much so.

1.) What is next up on your drawing que?

2.) I'm recently realized I have lots of Saskue/Sakura fans on my flist - what's the appeal?

Thursday, February 26th, 2009 12:46 am (UTC)
*taps mic*

Interview meeeee!
Saturday, February 28th, 2009 11:34 pm (UTC)
1.) If you were merging Bleach and Naruto into one manga, what would the cast look like?

2.) What is a pairing you're like to see as canon in Bleach (not Y-something and her lesbian covert ops lover, which is already canon)

3.) How hard do the people bitching about Hinata doing something in the latest chapter fail? (Seriously, I'm discovering that there is a whole segment of the fanon that's like, 'Konoha should just do nothing and let Naruto save them!' and it's pissing me right off.

4.) What is your favorite color.

5.) Do you paint your nails?
Thursday, February 26th, 2009 01:35 am (UTC)
Interview away!
Thursday, February 26th, 2009 02:55 am (UTC)
1.) Where do you see yourself in five years?

2.) What are you currently reading?

3.) What characters would you like to take out to dinner?

4.) What is the next icon you're going to delete?

5.) Favorite moment in Iron Man?
Thursday, February 26th, 2009 03:28 pm (UTC)
1) Ruler of a robot army.
2) Passage - Connie Willis.
3) Kino and Hermes. They'd make for the most interesting dinner conversation.
4) My approach tends to be less about deleting icons as it is waiting for LJ to give me more slots to upload in . . .
5) Any moment with Pepper being awesome.
Saturday, February 28th, 2009 06:40 am (UTC)
2.) I remember reading Passage. It's a great read. I adore the chapter headers.

Thursday, February 26th, 2009 01:45 am (UTC)
Alannaaaaaaaaaaaaa~~~ I loved her with a burning passion, but Daine was stiff competition. AND THEN THERE WAS KEL, THE BADASS NORMAL WHO SCREWED GENDER ROLES WITHOUT MAGICAL POWERS!!!!

Oh, and interview prz?
Thursday, February 26th, 2009 02:52 am (UTC)
1.) If Itachi wasn't your favorite character (and all other Uchiha are ineligable) who would your favorite character in Naruto be and why?

2.) What did you eat for dinner?

3.) Have you ever gotten your hair cut style from a character?

4.) Which is better, Naruto or Bleach and why?

5.) Why is your first choice college your first choice? (And on that subject, ROCK ON! *throws confetti)

And Daine really was stiff competition. Still, I think I'd have to pick Alanna, simply because of her agency and the fact that she was my first love.

Aaah! Tamora Pierce. DON'T INTERVIEW ME, but, since I was in college I've got all the girls in my year telling me to read Tamora Pierce. Plus I get rec'd last year, in the book recs post.

RECOMMEND ME THE FIRST BOOK/SERIES I SHOULD PICK UP.
Thursday, February 26th, 2009 02:36 am (UTC)
CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER, ALL THE WAY.

Start at the beginning, with Alanna: The First Adventure. After that, read the Wild Magic quartet. Honestly, after those books I think her writing started to go downhill, but the Keldry series is decent, as is the first circle of magic quartet (not in the Tortal universe.)
Thursday, February 26th, 2009 02:26 pm (UTC)
Have you read Terrier? In general I would agree with her writing going downhill after Wild Magic (Can't say I liked the Trickster series a whole lot)but I actually thought Terrier was one of her better books overall.
Saturday, February 28th, 2009 06:41 am (UTC)
I have heard that. Terrier is on my list.
Thursday, February 26th, 2009 02:37 am (UTC)
INTERVIEW ME!
Thursday, February 26th, 2009 02:50 am (UTC)
Your default icon. Discuss.

Favorite character in Harry Potter.

Favorite genre of books.

A food you despise.

Can you draw.
Thursday, February 26th, 2009 03:37 am (UTC)
Interview please! (My momma raised me to be polite!)

I think Nicely Please is my favorite one of yours. Though, it'll prolly be tougher should I reread some stuff. It really made my day, that one.
Thursday, February 26th, 2009 08:50 am (UTC)
Yeah, I choose fics that made me happy versus what I think are my best work this time around, and I have a soft spot for Nicely, Please - I wrote it at after reading one too many:

girl: 'No, no!'
guy: 'You clearly mean yes!'
girl: "no... I mean yes.'

stories.

As for your questions:

1.) Current favorite icon

2.) Favorite harry potter book.

3.) What is your favorite season?

4.) Any new fandoms on the horizan?

5.) Favorite flavor of ice cream.
Thursday, February 26th, 2009 04:34 am (UTC)
Ah, yet another endlessly cycling chain letteresque meme.

Well, what the hell. Hit me. :D
Thursday, February 26th, 2009 08:39 am (UTC)
It's like the cycle of life, only infinitely less meaningful.

1.) Is there any reason to read Hetalia if you're not all about the yaoi?

2.) Is it not criminal that Russia the motherland is male?

3.) Who is your favorite member of Atasuki?

4.) Does Sai work the nice guy pose better than either Gai or Lee?

5.) Do you have a job, and if so, what?
Sunday, March 1st, 2009 12:16 am (UTC)
I'll elaborate further in my LJ, but...

1)Yes, if you're also a political junkie or history buff. I think you have to be either this and/or a yaoi fan to enjoy it, though. If the thought of England and France as two bishies spitting insults at one another as an allegory for European history amuses you, you'll enjoy Hetalia.

2)Yes, and I don't see why there are so few bishojo in there.

3)Probably Deidara. I like everyone in Akatsuki because they are all batshit. But Deidara is the most fun, edging out Hidan in sheer bluster and Madara in maniacal hyperactivity.

4)YES. But Sai's imitations of most people outshine the originals.

5)Yes, I'm a graphic designer and freelance illustrator.

Sunday, March 1st, 2009 06:10 am (UTC)
2.) It's a shame, because I like History, but I don't know if I could handle the OMGYAOI sparkles. I know I'll get annoyed, so I've decided to stay away, for my blood pressure's sake.

3.) the hands don't hurt his popularity.

4.) because Sai is just that awesome.

5.) That sounds like a cool job.
Thursday, February 26th, 2009 05:45 am (UTC)
Interview me? Also awesome avenue q tag is awesome.
Thursday, February 26th, 2009 08:22 am (UTC)
I figured it was time, since I just planned out my classes for my third and last quarter.

1.) What pairing would you make canon in Naruto if you could?

2.) How old are you?

3.) Favorite character and pairing in Bleach?

4.) What is your favorite Avenue Q song?

5.) If you changed your lj name, what would you change it to and why?
(deleted comment)
Sunday, March 1st, 2009 04:19 am (UTC)
I end up really, really proud of my gen/gen with hints of pairings, I think because it's a harder than just going into 'la la happy OTP place'.

Yeah, I am kinda New Age, which... I have mixed feelings about.
Monday, March 2nd, 2009 04:10 am (UTC)
Ah hell, interview me :)
Wednesday, March 4th, 2009 08:04 am (UTC)
1.) Any upcoming plans for fic?

2.) Any open icons slots?

3.) What is one icon you wish you had but hasn't been made yet?

4.) Favorite Avatar episode.

5.) What would you LIKE to happen in the end of Naruto?
Tuesday, March 10th, 2009 01:58 am (UTC)

I'm sorry I never commented on this! Life has been so complex lately.

So what is it about tigers you like, as opposed to say, leopards?

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009 03:45 am (UTC)
Hey, no worries.

And I'm not sure... maybe I like stripes better than spots?
