She's certainly not a fucking prize to be handed off to some boy and the fact that she was treated as such is a massive flaw in the finale. (And oh, if I may be bitchy? What does it say about your pairing that it makes more sense for her to fight next to the character who supported her through some of her best character development and NOT the child you'd like to pair her with?)

b.) I was actually fearing that Katara, being so protective of Aang as she is, would end up taking a bullet for Aang and dying due to Aang's indecisiveness/moral quandary, and that... would have been much much worse. Oh, god that would have been awful! Although also way, way to believable and dark for Avatar. honestly, I'd like to see someone do that in a fic (personally, I really don't feel that Aang sacrificed/lost enough in the show, which was part of my problems with the finale).
c.) True, though I really doubt that all the Katara/Zuko interaction in the finale was just a massive shiptease. Oh, it wasn't at all! It was exactly what I was hoping for and what has always been true with Katara/Zuko scenes - it was two people who think they are more different than they actually are just... interacting. It was really organic to the characters and the show, which is why (imho) the Katara and Zuko fight against Azula was the best part of the finale.
