Yes, it's exactly like Persepolis - the author of that was talking about growing up in Iran. What's truly a shame is that these things are still going on - I can't imagine how demoralizing it must be for the author to have gone through all that in her childhood and still see it happening all over again.

When I paint my nails this week or the next, I'm gonna do it for her.
